If it had been, Vandy would have been the first to tell everyone.... that and the fact that he is statistically the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history. Forthe billionthtime.

I said this in another thread, if you look at the kick the ball changes direction, it looks like it was tipped by the outside rush guy...check it out...

It's impossible to tell for sure, but the defender dove toward the ball and if he didn't tip it, then he sure got as close as you can without actually touching the ball...I wouldn't be surprised at all if the ball was "blocked".

I just freeze-framed it, and it looks like it ever-so-slightly might have been tipped.

The outside rusher's hand got to the ball right as it was passing him, and it's impossible to tell if he got it or was just behind it, but the real telling point is that just after that point, it looks like the ball jumps a very slight bit to the right.

For what it's worth, I STILL blame Vandy for that. He's way too casual on the "easy" ones. You need to get a 26 yarder off like an extra point... no fuss no muss. You need to get that kicked before that guy has a chance to get around the corner. It's not like it was blown blocking.

I went back and looked as well. The thought crossed my mind when I saw it originally but I didn't check it out at the time. If the guy got it (and I think he did) it was like with just his fingernail but it was enough. It hit the upright so just a fraction of an inch at that point in the trajectory would be enough to make it miss.

So you are saying that a defender tipped the ball and it's still Vandy's fault. This guy just can't win.:bang2:

If you notice the outside rushers reaction was like he had something to do with the miss.....

Sorry Mrs. Vanderjagt... I'll try to cut your son some slack.

For what it's worth, you're way cooler than Mrs. Cortez!

Gee Hos -- we are getiting closer to my prediction about Vandy missing a 65 yarder and folks here calling for him to be cut.
