Something curious/suspicious is going on with the Washington Commanders ... there's evidence the owner might be caving to pressure to change the name.

Here's what we know. Commanders owner Dan Snyder lives in Potomac, Maryland, a few doors down from a very rich dude, Aris Mardirossian. Aris, a wealthy patent investor, registered the name, WASHINGTON BRAVEHEARTS on October 17th. According to the Trademark application, obtained by TMZSports, Aris plans to use the name for "Entertainment in the nature of football games."

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Even though it only lasted a few minutes.

The Commanders have forwarded the following statement to PFT in response to the item regarding the registration of the name “Washington Bravehearts” for federal trademark protection.

“There is no connection between the trademark and the Washington Commanders,” the team said. ”Dan Snyder does not know the man that was reported in the story.”

only problem with that is Snyder and the guy filed a lawsuit to cut down some trees together. Snyder knows him.

Should reflect what the city is known for, e.g. Cleveland = crap, ergo. "Browns". Maybe Washington Crack ****** or the Washington Bankruptcy.

How dare that horrendous team blaspheme the greatest movie of all time....
