QB, Washington huskeys

Height: 6-23/8 | Weight: 216 | 40-Time: 4.50

Official Bio

Strengths:
A terrific natural athlete...Very good speed and is extremely mobile...Arm strength is excellent and he snaps the ball off quickly...Pretty good size and bulk...A strong runner and he's tough to tackle in the open field...Throws well on the run...He is a team leader with solid intangibles...Very versatile and has experience at another position...Was showing major improvement as a senior...Still has a lot of upside.

Weaknesses:
Might have to change positions at the next level...Still very raw as a passer and only has about two years of experience...Still needs a lot of work when it comes to mechanics, technique and fundamentals...Was not overly productive...He's still recovering from a serious injury so health and durability are concerns...Makes too many mistakes...A long-term project regardless of which position he settles in at.

Notes:
Also a member of the Huskies track team...Excelled in baseball as a prep and was chosen in the 45th round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles...Some teams are looking at him as a wide receiver prospect and that is where he played as a freshman...Suffered a season-ending foot injury as a senior...An intriguing developmental guy as either a signal caller or wideout but will need a lot of work.

Looks good, could be the second coming of Quincy Carter.

...

Interesting guy to bring in, as the profile say I imagine he'd be switching to WR. I was never really a fan of him in the games I watched in college though.

I have always wished we drafted a qb/wr athlete. I feel that if Kordell stayed as "Slash", he'd still be in the league. You can get creative with a player like that, and it is hard for a defense to prepare for a "slash" type player.

Can we get off the QC references?

It's obvious to anyone who has slightly more than a modicum of brain matter that this guy will have to change positions at the next level.

That's the part you have to keep in mind.

It IS obvious.

Unless you're a moron.

No thanks to this guy! I like Trent Edwards and Drew Stanton in round 3.

The problem is they won't be there late in round 3 where Dallas is drafting. I like Stanton, the BYU and Houston QB's also.

I go to a lot of Husky games and Stanback is worth a late flyer in that he has a good arm and can really move around. He seems like a good kid and never had a lot of talent around him. With some quality pro coaching and some talent around he could be a good pro.

The U.W. has turned out a lot of quality QB's and Stanback would be worth a pick in the 4-6 round range.

Definately a WR. Look at Jones on Jax or as another poster said- Crayton on our team. I saw him some at the combine on the NFL network. Horrible mechanics and throwing motion. Not a question he's going to wideout. Nice 4th rounder if you ask me. A project for sure.

Isiah Stanback - That name has a great ring to it.

The Cowboys need a long-term project with lots of potential to hold down their 3rd QB spot. If Stanback's NFL position is QB, I'd rather have him on the roster than Troy Smith (unless we can figure out a way for Smith to grow a few inches taller).
