everything I, and many others recognized, Washington had to do happened...

1) Their Defense had to play lights out and keep them in it.
2) The only decent WR(moss) had to step it up.
3) The team that got 2-3 big plays would win the game, we got the flea flicker, they got 2 strikes to Moss.

Overall, we played GREAT defense for 55 minutes, mediocre offense(what's up witht he play calling in some situations).

Seems like Bill just wanted to get Thompson in there for the hell of it.

Glenn has been around long enough that on 4th and 4 you dont run a 3 yard in. Period.

I got somewhat of a laugh out of the fact that the ****in Skins act like they won the Super Bowl, dumping the cooler on Gibbs after the win...

They came in thinking this was their Super Bowl..I can really see them sliding, because the amount of effort and hype they put into this game.

We need to forget this game, I'm having trouble doing, and I was livid most of last night, and woke up pissed today. But we're sitting at 1-1. Salisbury saying this could dictate our season, is just an idiot.

Only 7 teams have a 2-0 record. 1-1 is not that bad.

SF, Oakland, Philly, NYG, Seattle...if we can go 3-2, 4-1 over this streatch, sitting at 4-3 or 5-2 going into our bye, we can put together a strong second half.

We saw tremendous potential from our young defense players. Canty, Spears, Ware, they all look like studs. I think once they really hit stride, this will be a different team. Nothing about the next 5 games, except maybe SF, is going to be easy. But there's no excuse to not beating some of these teams. Philly and NY scare me the most.

Washington's D looks really good. They swarm the run, they are good in pass coverage. The corners sacrifice themself for the run. I just can't believe we gave the game away like that.

Yes they do, but I'm thinking a lot of what makes them good is their tackling. I think a lot of the different looks is just a way by Greg Williams to confuse the offense by infusing in them the fear of the blitz, irregardless whether it is executed or not. If you noticed yesterday, once we hit the flea flicker play, the blitzes literally just stopped and the defense seemed to back off. If you keep the defense honest, then the offense has to take its shots, and we NEVER did that. They stopped blitzing, but we never took the opportunity to capitalize.

I completely agree. We left it in the hands of our defense. What I disliked about how we started playing, was very conservative. We backed off, yet we didnt keep the one thing they have on offense, speed, in front of us. I would have kept bringing blitzes, it worked for 55 minutes. I had faith we would hold on, you dont think that 2 passes like that get hit on you.
