He's still better than Weeden and Cassel. At least he moved the ball and put up some points.

He is a turnover machine....we were playing aganst backups vs WAS and they were winning 24-0 before we blinked.....no thanks.....

Yeah, and he had an MVP supporting cast. No RB, WR. You put him in with Zeke and Dez and we win 3 out of 4 if needed.

Even the Jones family called out the coaching as a reason the team could not even be competitive with a good back QB last year. Who the back up is really means little until the coaching is changed. Weden and Matt both won games until they got here.

Moore's got more going for him than Foles does. Especially for what it would cost to bring him in off another roster.

I would like to see another vet brought in before camp.

It's a matter of degree. We can't survive Romo going down for several games, true, but let's say his back keeps him out a game or two or three... not at all unlikely... heck, the division often is decided on that many games, so just have to take seriously identifying someone who has a decent chance of driving the bus well enough to win for that many games.

Rams seemingly would have to be open to offers, as reported pre-draft. Do we hold out for Foles' release, or are we willing to part with a draft pick? If a draft pick, how high?... If Jerry calls, I might tell him he can part with a 5th w/o facing my wrath.

For Foles I might go as high as a fourth...having said that, I doubt they make a move and I doubt the rams will either.

Life after romo is not on this team yet. Don't see them bringing in anybody else for the backup.

Man, I just don't get what anybody sees in Foles.

If we bring in a vet, it'll be somebody we can legitimately cut if he can't beat out Moore. I think we were looking at that with Matt Moore in FA, and he walked and signed an inexpensive deal right after our visit. It seemed we had interest in McCoy early on, too, and he didn't get a huge deal to stay in WAS.

Whatever we're offering, it can't be much. And it's definitely not going to come with a draft pick attached.

Garrett falls in love with guys that reminds him of himself. :D we definitely could do way better but like it's been said a million times, any team can kiss their season goodbye if their star qb goes down.

Actually it was Lineman that wanted Moore.

But don't let that stop the agenda train. Woo woo!

I haven't seen enough of Moore yet to decide. I know there are better but Linhand has a close
up view of moore every day and is entrusting his job on him for some reason.

To be clear, I'm leaning towards the Cowboys sitting tight until the final cuts before they make any move. There just simply isn't a clear cut back up that is going to be worth the price of admission available. QB's that can drive the bus effectively are almost as rare as franchise quarterbacks.

This kind of thread makes me wonder.

Are we close to contending?

If yes is the answer then maybe you need that experienced back up. If you are following common logic.

But this off season has pretty much been anything but common logic. It is the off season that said to me this coaching staff is going nowhere barring a total Phillips style collapse.

With than in mind I carry 3 qbs.

Romo
Moore
Prescott

Romo and Moore dress everyweek and if Romo goes down Moore comes in and finishes the game.

What happens if Romo misses multiple games you ask?

Dak gets the keys to the Porsche with Moore still backing him up.

Who knows that may spark something we haven't seen with this team in a while.

Or it may fall flat on its face and if it does I'm all in for a qb of the future next off season because it will be time to stop selling the hope the the Jedi to lead us to glory.

Either way you get an idea of Dak has to offer

But we all know that isn't going to the case because number 9 will lead this team to a division crown and some post season noise.

Any back-up is a back-up for a reason. There are flaws. But give me someone who has been there, who has enjoyed some success, and who... as opposed to Moore... won't have to have a career day to tally a W...

Truthfully, I watched Moore and he's constantly throwing off his heels and doesn't have the plus arm necessary to get away with it. He knows where to go with the ball in this offense... that's his calling card... but there is a point where physical traits unavoidably put a cap on what a player can do. He is not a legit #2, imho.

This is what we're going to be doing when Romo retires. It's the post Aikman years all over again if they don't address the QB situation.

Yes sir, and the remaining few (maybe 3 or 4) who still hate on Romo will bask in the glory of their new Quincy riding in to save the day.

Boy is it going to be fun in here or what?

There is a reason he didn't get one snap in 3 1/2 years before he got here....he is a waste as a QB3 because his ceiling is so low that even he can reach it....
