Not trying to be an arse here, but what background?
The least thing he has going for him is background of 1-AA football.
The best thing he has are supposedly his raw skills.

I mean, his team was 8-0 without him last year and only 5-2 with him.
At a very low level of competition.
Doesn't mean he won't be great someday.

The players around him seem to be the biggest knock on him. His physical talent is rare. So what about the guys around him... They do not matter.

I don't have anything against him at all. Seems like a really nice prospect.
I just pointed out that they had a better record with the same team without him. But maybe those two losses were two two good teams in the that division.
Still 8-0 without him says directly that at least at that level, the team around him was very good.

lol. Good to know, we should just cut Prescott before training camp starts. Why waste time in developing him.

We'll see in preseason what he can do.. we saw flashes with Romo early and he had Parcells and Sean Peyton believing in him. Until Prescott beats out Kellen Moore and Garrett starts talking him up I'm not even going to bother with Prescott.

He probably has the worst arm of all QBs in the NFL today,he has to use his whole body to even throw the ball 20 yards.

I am not a big proponent for Foles, but those that are saying he never did anything...he had a year in the pros with 27 tds to 2 ints. I don't care who it is, that is pretty impressive.

Kelly went after "his" guy and got rid of Foles....and lets face it, the Rams had no talent for Foles to work with there.

As far as young prospects go he is one of the better ones out there.

Someone writing for RamsWire says this is the state of play where Foles' salary hit for the Rams is concerned:

I'm suspicious about the trade part... can any capologists here confirm?

So, my research says that once bonus money is paid, it's stuck to the team's spreadsheet for that year... meaning, unless I'm missing something, that when the Rams paid Foles' bonus money in March (per earlier reports I've read), that $6 mil is all theirs... and meaning that they end up, instead, with $7 million in dead money, and only 1.75m in cap savings after all... and, importantly to us, then, Foles would cost only $1.75m for 2016 both in terms of actual salary and his impact on our cap.

Hard to beat that, really.

If Wentz is a star NFL QB then it will be one of the biggest draft mistakes we ever made not going and getting him.

We had all the information you could possibly get and better draft positioning.

I've seen reports fromEagles camp mentioned that suggest Wentz wasnt the best looking QB on the field.

Either way, not outbidding two teams in desperate need for a starter in order to secure a backup is not going to go down as a draft mistake on our part. There will be Wentzes available in coming drafts if we want one.

Doubt it. We rarely see that blend of talent in 1 player.

NFL is all about the QB and if you got one sitting there then you go get him if it's an option.

I don't doubt it. He wasn't even the best QB in his draft year. But I guess we'll see.

The NFL is definitely all about the QB, but if you have one, it's hard to justify outbidding two teams that don't in the open market.

I'd agree with you though, if you want to make the observation that we should have coughed up the trivial third rounder to secure Padton Lynch, who's also reportedly looked good early in OTAs.

How will that be a mistake? Another team beat us to the punch and gave up a lot of future picks. That is something I'm glad SJ avoided.

They traded 3 starters, a 1st, 3rd & 4th this year, another 1st next year & a 2nd the following year.

OK we didn't have to trade anybody to get up to #8 & probably could have kept either our #3 or #4 this year. So basically add next year's #1 & the next year's #2 to whichever we lost. In return we get Wentz. I think they liked him, but obviously not enough.

Even if they were wrong, it ain't good for Philly until after Romo is gone.

We only needed to move up 2 spots so surely the price would've been cheaper.

Of course, but I think they were in the market for a quantity of reasonably high picks.. I expect our picks to be lower than Philly's the next 2 years & the Browns are really trying to rebuild their entire team. With Philly they got both quantity + higher picks, which I think they liked better than what was available at #4..

He is a turnover machine....we were playing aganst backups vs WAS and they were winning 24-0 before we blinked.....no thanks.....

I agree, I think JJ and SJ was so used to seeing ineffective qb play that when they saw a glimmer of good play they took it and ran with it. After the skins went up big the defense played really loose and allowed short to intermediate passes that allowed Moore and Williams to pad their stats. I don't think that game was in any way indicative of what we can expect from Moore, unless your going to tell me we'll be down 24 points every time he comes in the game.
