This was the most brutal season I, as a fan, ever have been through and witnessed. As has been mentioned, I can't imagine what the players went through and felt.

I think this interview with Romo and his mood he had during it is just the culmination of all of the bad things that happened this year. Coming off the high of 2014 and then experiencing the injuries and all of the close losses in a row just takes it out of you.

He'll be back and I am one of the ones that believes he'll play just as well as he always has. We do need to have some kind of plan for the future at the position, but he's not done.

Dude looked depressed as hell, seriously.

He talked in a low monotone voice the entire interview, never laughed, never smiled, no energy, no enthusiasm, no nothing. I don't know if having to have another surgery has him down or maybe he is just pissed the team is probably going to take a QB in the first round, I don't know but I have never really seen Romo this down recently.

I have provided a link below in case others want to watch. Maybe its just me and I got the wrong vibe, but he just didn't seem like the happy, cheerful Romo that we all know and love. Dude just looks down right depressed.

Hello, playmates! Had some really good curry at the Cat and the Fiddle. Blokes, did he say "We have to get better."?

Reality has a way of kicking a guy in the posterior region to see things may not go as you always thought it would... never playing in a championship game is going to hurt his legacy. He has good reason to be depressed.

It's a large fan base. I hardly think it's a stretch to say many of our fans suck. That's not necessarily aimed at anybody on the site, and it's definitely not aimed at anybody just for being negative or frustrated. But our fans are entitled, and some turn on players at the drop of a hat. That's a toxic combination in my book, and you can hear it in the players commentary that a lot of them agree.

Honestly, I think as a whole our fans are pretty middling. They get high points for quantity, but they're not particularly avid, and they're not particularly supportive. And too many have adopted an attitude that they're embarrassed to be Cowboys fans instead of just enjoying what they've got. I know my definition is not everybody's, but I go to pains to distance myself from some of the perceptions of our fans that are out there.

I think you just described most fan bases around the league...........my brother is a big Titans fan (he was a big Houston Oilers fan so when the team moved to Nashville he became a Titan fan). Long story short, I check out the Titan fan sites from time to time to keep up on what is going on with the team so me and my brother can discuss it. He does the same, keeps up with the Cowboys so we discuss both teams virtually every day and analyze every move each team makes.

Bottom line is that the Titan fan sites are pretty much like this one, you got fans that hate the coaching staff, think hiring the interium head coach Malarky to full time head coach was totally dumb since he had a hand in the losing (sound familiar?), you got fans that post about this player sucking and that player sucking, ect...(again, sound familiar?). Many of the fans say they are too embarrassed to wear their Titan gear in Nashville because the team has the number one pick, kinda similar to what you are saying about Cowboy fans not being supportive and enjoying what they got.

Also keep in mind that Jerry has said on multiple occasions that criticism of the coaches and players is valid when the team plays poorly. Jerry has even publicly called his head coach a "trainee", so what do you expect from fans when this 'trainee" and his team constantly misses the playoffs?

It's not about criticism. It's about attitude.

And I frequent a lot of sports boards. There are similarities between all fans that are just part of human nature, but they're definitely not all the same. History, expectations, how the team handles itself, and how a team is covered by media all play a role in how fans behave. Packer fans, for example, are very different from Steeler fans. And you can spot a delusional Skins fan from a mile away.

Yeah he's probably down on football with all his injuries. Not to mention he's probably on pain meds lol.

When he collapsed in front of his family after returning from Greenbay and was in tears, that told me a lot. I think he realized that this was probably his best shot and Dean Blandino took it from him.

Agree mostly. Probably was his best shot. We got jobbed by the referees. Also we made some critical mistakes on our own and ultimately the defense showed no signs of stopping GB when the game was in the balance.

There's still a solid 2 year window there for him if the team makes the right subtle moves to improve the roster.

His team just went 4-12...remember it wasn't just us fans that were optimistic going into the season...after the Pats game Romo told Brady the boys would see them in Feb...he should be depressed

Highly doubtful and nonsensical on your part..........you must have slept through the season, most Cowboy fans think a statue should be made for him after this year. The team literally cannot win a game without him.

If anything, he is even more loved by the fans now.....................have no idea how you came to your conclusion.

Go read the Aikman thinks Manziel or RG III will be here, thread, and get back to me

Most fans, yes.

I still think we lose that game, there were still 4 mins left and all Green Bay needed was a FG........considering Rogers was playing on one leg all game and we could not even sniff a pass rush, I find the argument that we would have kept Green Bay out of FG range for the next 4 mins highly unlikely.

Yea, it was a bad call but the bigger problem was our lack of a pass rush against a one legged QB. And even if we would have won that game, no way we would have beat both Seattle and New England both for a SB title, not with that anemic pass rush. That is why Jerry and Stephen after that game said the pass rush was the number one problem and drafted Gregory and signed Hardy as a result.

The major factor here is that GB would have been out of time outs. We would have been first and goal. We legitimately could have run the ball 4 times. They would have gotten the ball back with like 1-2 mins left. That's my theory.

Either way dallas didn't play good enough when it counted the most like they usually do.

Garrett and Demarco were close also, going to basketball games together and all................but the NFL is still a business.

And even though the organization may have Romo's back, you can better well believe that if there is a QB sitting there at pick 4 they will not hesitate one second from drafting him. And a QB at pick 4 is not going to be Romo's backup very long, its going to be his replacement. The only issue is how long.

If we draft a quarterback at #4, Tony Romo has two years as a starter for the Cowboys MAX. We are not going to let a rookie who we deem the next franchise quarterback sit behind Romo for THREE YEARS to start in his fourth year.

That's why the Cowboys are either going to go ALL IN on this quarterback issue by drafting one at #4 or put all its chips in a bag and gamble that Romo has four good years left.

You can probably guess which option I'd take.
