Detroit and Washington erased the longer tenure than us the last 2 years. That's everyone from the NFC.

Go to the AFC and I believe it's only Miami, Houston and Cleveland with longer droughts than us. Houston has a very good chance to erase that this year. That means only 2 teams in the entire league have a longer drought than us.

It keeps getting more pathetic as the years go on and we see teams tear it down and build it up while we stay in neutral.

SF has torn it down and rebuilt twice now and have made a lot of conference championship games and like 3 Super Bowls. They have made the Super Bowl with 3 different QBs. Eagles have now torn it down twice and have 2 rings in 3 appearances.

It's laughable how arrogant and ignorant this front office is

I am a diehard Cowboys fan. I want the Cowboys to be more successful. I tried to be as positive this season as I could be knowing our defence wasn't good. I just hoped that maybe Williams would be able to turn things a better way. My HOPE is that Jerry actually does make the necessary moves. I don't expect us to win it all next year. But I at least want to see a coherent plan this year. I would like to see us get our defence better. I would like for us to head the right way. This is a positive post because I'm saying that I can see a way forward. But I think it requires Jerry to be proactive.

I was watching that game last night and thinking to myself that the current version of the Dallas Cowboys would lose that game 10 out of 10 times.

I hope it stays that way because I cannot stand the Texans. However, I think it's horrible how bad our defence is and how reactive Jerry was as opposed to proactive this past offseason. I think IF Jerry wants this team to get better as I'm sure we all do, then I think this offseason, he needs to do more. I hope he's creating an actual plan. I like some of the DC options he's interviewing. I think that's good. It shows that, so far, he might be more proactive than usual. Once that's set, if we have players that he wants to re-sign, then they should be done as soon as possible. If the extensions are not easily done and he wants to make trades, then the sooner the better.

At the same time either option (rebuild or actually go all in instead of talking about going all in and not doing anything) would have been fine with me. Instead, he chose option panic and procrastinate.

I think you don't understand what I'm saying as I understand all this you don't need to have redundant posts and reiterate and list all the issues we've had because we all know most of us in here follow the Cowboys more close than the casual van and we understand all this we understand the 30 years we understand the last five years We're basically getting real time information from push notifications from apps and by the time we get here most of it's old news but at least we're discussing it but we're already discussing, it it's already well understood and beat like dead horse on the jones family miscues....

But again it's redundant but using the Texans as an example is a bad move in my opinion because they've done nothing yet.. But again I'm gonna give them some credit great agnostic Steelers out now the Packers Eagles and Steelers are gone none of the NFC East are still playing we have one hated rival still in it in the Niners we need them knocked out Yep this is what we've been reduced to I get it..

And I'm hopeful that next year we are better. I'm actually producing a positive thread that I think will show something that I'm seeing that's got me thinking maybe Jerry is going to be proactive this year. I hope I'm right with what I'm seeing.

Ahhh yes, the other side of the ball always escapes blame. Dallas had the worst defense in football. It's never on them to try and prop up an off night, nope, it's always 100% on the offense to prop up those losing cast of characters. It's been this way since the mid 2000s. Look at Houston and NE in their playoff games. Houston gave up 6, NE gave up 3. You think we could ever fathom winning a game only needing to beat those scores? Not a chance. Our defense gives up 3-4 TD drives in a row.

Stroud was god awful last night and won. Why do Dallas QBs never get this luxury? Because they have ignored the defense forever now.

And again I believe one of your missteps is using the wrong team as an example we've already seen it with the dynasties recently with the Patriots and the Chiefs and we've seen the success of the Rams and the Eagles of late the rest of them that are just getting in this are not the examples we need to show that the Cowboys are behind the 8 ball as a matter of fact you all did this with the Texans a few years back when Watson was playing well or better and they were like on this little run and they looked like they were back and then yet they weren't backed just like the Commanders were not back last year unless you get on a roll that I just listed the teams that would be better examples you cannot list the team that has not done it they've turned around nothing they built a great defense... And maybe the team is getting better but we don't know bad example that's all I'm pointing out People jump on these little short bursts I remember back when the Jaguars and the Jets had those little bursts you remember Blake Bortles and Mark Sanchez right right they were carried by great defenses that was really short that's what we call a little burst too small a sample size you're arguing the wrong teams...


He wasn't the Titans at one time it looked like they were about to build something then it collapsed the Ravens perfect example they got really close and now it looks like it's falling apart before they ever even get to a super bowl yes if you want to use them as an example they did get to a championship game..


So right now if you include teams like the Broncos and New England and the Texans they're just getting into this they have not arrived they have not done anything special yet Regular season success in winning a playoff game is not enough to use as an example.


We've heard about all these other teams right I just listed them they're all better examples of how the cowboys are behind.....

MY frustration is a bit deeper than that, and it's actually creditable to Jerry in a way. I think that he's built a team that isn't as far as some think. BUT, I think if he were more proactive, I think the Cowboys could be contenders. I think the offense is fantastic. I think Eberflus was obviously a bad choice. But, if he does the offseason in the right way and is proactive, I think the Dallas Cowboys can build for a better short term future.

The GM and coaching staff for the Texans has put together a pretty good defensive team, whereas the Cowboy's GM appears to be spinning his wheels, again and again and again. Until JJ hires a bonafide GM, the Cowboys are going to be a middle of the pack kind of team.

I had several post in this thread calling out the historically bad defense. And I’m not blaming Dak or our offense. Just saying given all of these factors we could have still made the playoffs. That’s how good our QB and offense was. Most of the time anyway.

Dude come on, arent you sick of constantly reading the same old complaining? People whine here constantly and its always the same garbage.

My point is trying to compare our abysmal performance to another team and then wallow in misery does zero at this point.

This offseaon we have an awesome chance to bring in a new DC, keep the offense together (resign pickens), draft 2-3 brand new top tier defensive starters, and hopefully bring on another 2-3 new tier q or tier 2 defensive starters.

Will it happen? Who knows, but i damn sure am not going to sit here whining that the frigging Houston Texans are a game away from making their first conference championship game when we haven't been to one in 30 years....just done with that
