Way too early 53 (current roster)

- Typically they carry only 4 DTs, and it would appear Woods would be the odd man out, especially since Crawford looks like he's staying and can act as a 5th DT.

- They also have, in the past, carried 11 defensive backs (6 corners, safeties) but with this chatter of cross training a corner at S, I wonder if they go only 10 DBs.

- OL, I wonder if they go a bit lighter here since Williams might be able to be a swing OT and still play some OG in a pinch.

- Also remember, per the new CBA, teams can carry 55 guys on active roster on gameday (two guys from practice squad can be added on gameday and then return right after game to practice squad) and that the game rosters go to 48 instead of 46 (one of those extra guys has to be an OL).

Seems pretty accurate. Its always a few guys who come out of nowhere to open up a spot for themselves. Gifford was one of them later. Only one I question is Dinucci. But its not like Rush has that position locked up himself.

Well in his defense.....that list doesn't seem that far off. Maybe a few of those guys to PS and they get vets in here to take their spot.

I wouldn't be too surprised if McCarthy kept three QB's if they all have good camps.

I wouldn't have keep all three of those scrubs at the bottom of the WR depth. Definitely wouldn't go 6 deep with those guys

Remove Chunn, add FB Olawale, OL, remove Hyatt add Knight (based on last year)
Once reinstated, add Gregory and Smith, remove Jackson and Jelks
Remove DT Hamilton and add Hill, remove Woods, as Crawford can also plat DT
Not sure if too many DB's, but if one goes, Worley could be swapped out for Woods at DT, or another RB or QB.

- 55 rosters only on gameday. You can bring up two guys from the practice squad on gamedays when constructing the game roster. But once the game is over, they have to go back to the practice squad (meaning they can get plucked by other teams).

- 48 man active roster for games (up from 46) but one of the two extra players has to be an OL, if I recall correctly.

Also now that I look at the roster that way, they have some work to do.
Depth at WR and LB mostly.
I like Smith, Brown and Wilson, but Brown and Wilson are injury prone. But like smith as a 4th or 5th WR. They need another vet to come in and compete.

Gifford was a fan favorite, but is he really the best as or 5th or 6th LB, and they seem to usually keep 7, so yes need work here. March good ST's, not so good as LB depth.

Need more LB's as they only have 9 I think on the roster. Any vets out there?
