The saddest part about watching your season end in October is knowing that when Romo comes back we're going to win some meaningless games.

So we get the gut wrench of watching this season come undone before it really even started, without the compensation of a high draft pick at the end of the tunnel.

That's what makes this season unbearable, you know when Romo gets back, we will win enough games to miss the playoffs by one or two games and we will have to suffer through the whole off-season wondering what could have been if this pathetically coached/QBed team could have just one or two games out of seven. then we will have to suffer knowing that not only did we blow our best chance in the past decade of getting to the SB with the weakest NFC East division ever and no clearly dominating team in the NFC, but we will be picking in that 15-20 range and missing out in the top talent every round.

Its been worst year that I can remember. And I agree it has alot of potential to get much worse once Romo wins few games and we drop draft slots. I say start Moore next week because he won't know to be scared. Cassel against Eagles D line will be real ugly.

Romo doesn't want a QB. Of course he will win some games to avoid a high draft pick.. Paxton Lynch would take his job.

Yeah but when you get the GM looking you in the eye this offseason and admitting he made a mistake and everyone will be back to try again next year, that kind of accountability will reignite your passion for next year.

Believe.

Go Cowboys.

So which Cassell do you think we will see next week....reckless inaccurate late response Cassell or I am scared to do my job, but I Will do my best Weeden impersonation? Either way it won't end well.

Stop watching, then. :p I, for one, would like to see them lose the next two games before I throw in the towel. :D

Before the season started I was discussing with my friends that are also Cowboys fans how much I liked the moves the organization had made this offseason. I ended it with the caveat of (paraphrasing) 'even if we struggle this season for whatever reason, the moves that the organization have made have now allowed the Cowboys to come back strong for 2016 and beyond.'

The organization basically got Hardy and McFadden for a pay for play rate. I don't think Murray was worth re-signing for what he got in Philly. I still think we made the right move in not re-signing Harris for what he got and re-signing Beasley instead. We took a hard stance with Ro. McClain, we pick up Collins despite having what was already called the best O-Line in the league. And we generally were stingy in terms of any re-signings of veterans and I really like our draft.

Injuries happen (although they happen way too much to us) and it's about developing talent and not getting saddled with bad contracts to allow the team to not be so feast or famine every year. That's when we will start to compile back-to-back seasons in the playoffs and that's when we start giving ourselves a better chance at going to the Super Bowl.

I badly want Dallas to draft a first round QB to replace Romo in the next 2 years. So losing would help create that. But, tanking sends a bad message throughout the organization. You tank now and what message does the bring if you start off the season 2-4 and you're down by 14 points in the second quarter?

This is where I completely agree with Garrett...we can't just chase wins. We have to have a process in place and stick to that process until we become superb at time after time. Then the wins will come. It's not something crazy that Garrett came up with...he learned it directly from Nick Saban. The tricky part is when to figure out if the process will ever work or not. I tend to think it will given last year's performance with a very flawed team. So, I'd rather have us continue to stick to the process, try to win so we can at least evaluate talent for next season and continue to draft and make the offseason moves like we have made for the past 2 years.

I just hate that we wasted the Romo era with Garrett as our coach.

Wade Phillips got screwed over by this guy as well.

You're ridiculous. We get screwed over by your inane Garrett hate posts on a regular basis.

Wade screwed himself over.

He was a poor developer of talent. He had his greatest success ever as a HC in 2009 when he decided to change his ways and become tougher on players and it worked. Then the next season he fell back into the same ole way.

There's the old saying that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I think Wade showed a different kind of insanity when he changed his ways and it actually worked and then thought he could go back to his old ways and still get those results.

I don't hate Wade and I haven't been the biggest fan of Garrett's development of Romo, but Wade did it to himself.

The only thing I would add is drafting a lead RB in the 2nd or 3rd round. They need a workhorse.

Did people miss the fact that the New York Giants lost to the same New Orleans team yesterday that barely beat us with Brandon Weeden at quarterback?

Despite being without Romo, we only have one more loss than every team in our division. This "meaningless games" thing right now is just silly with this division not being very strong this year. If we stay within striking distance, the games with Romo will be anything but meaningless.

one thing Philly understands more than any team I have seen is they smell blood in the water. Cassel is gasping for air and might not even make 3rd string next year for a NFL team. Dallas needs to play desperate football because 2-6 is mighty hole. Garrett needs to rotate ALL the QBs in this game to find the one who can confuse philly a little. He has to abandon that I am gonna stick with guy who practiced all week with starters.

We will win at least most of the games Romo is starting because this team will look like a completely different team with him.

But that's because he over comes all the BS that is this team.
