We are going to tie the Saints at 11-5 and lose out due to head to head

for home field...this stinks...if we would have just took care of business we would have been ok...let's hope we have to play the falcons in the playoffs...the panthers are about to be knocked out...delhomme may be out for the year and vikes wont do it...so it will probably be the gints and falcons...if we are #3 and the gints are the top wild card we will probably play the falcons...the way its looking, its not out of the realm of possibilities...i just wanted home field......any thoughts?

my thoughts are this team NEEDED a bye....we have been in a "win out" mode since we lost to the Giants...and it would have been nice to sit back that week and WATCH other teams go through the physical and mental anguish of a single elimination tournament....it's much easier to go all the way as a wild card when you were the Ravens in 2000 or the Steelers last year when you are a team that plays GREAT defense AND RUNS the ball well....we have become a team that HAS to win with offense and winning four games in January on that side of the ball is to much to ask. We don't run it well enough to do that.

True, but my hope lies in the fact that our defense may catch fire like they did in the middle of the season. My hope lies in the fact that Parrish will be a peice of the puzzle that will allow other players to play in a position where they can make a difference.

I don't put my faith in Parrish directly, he is a player that was released. But I think he can have a cause-effect type impact once he learns the rest of the defense.

Besides, I'm not sure he wasn't released to us by the 49ers, for future considerations. They have two young guys, and really didn't need him. He knows most off our defensive scheme.

I remain just as hopeful as you. We have 2 more weeks to get it right on defense. Hey, I'm not picky. I'll take one or the other. A good pass rush or a secondary that stops giving up so many big plays.

My thought is if the pass rush improves then it will take care of #2.

After watching last night's game, I don't think they Saints are that good. They do have the No 1 offense, but I think it is our defense and made them look too good. They are beatable, they have problems on defense that Pittsburg/Cincinati exploited very well. They could still lose 2 out of 3 but it doesn't matter to get a bye if we don't fix our defense
