Hey guys.. this might stir up a little something among the Longhorns fans, but Im serious here.. Im a diehard Cowboys fan first, and a Sooners fan second.. so I love it when my Boys draft an OU player.. hey, Roy has worked out pretty well dontcha think? and that guy Tony Casillas we had was pretty good too.. but other than those two, I cant think of many other Sooners who have played for the Cowboys.. well, I think that we are gonna take one of these guys this year:

Davin Joseph
Chris Chester
Dusty Dvoracek
Travis Wilson
JD Runnells
Eric Bassey

I would absolutely LOVE it if we got Davin Joseph in the second round.. some have him at the bottom of the first, top of the second.. but if he is there when we pick, we gotta take him.. best guard in the draft and a high character guy.. honestly, I think any of these guys would be good pickups except for Bassey..

I would not be surprised to see us draft Joseph or Dvorack.

I would certainly be happy to see a certain RB drafted in 07.

What position would Dusty play for us? Would he be a 3-4 DE?

If this is the year we're trying to make a "big push", why not take him in the 1st. A bit of a reach, yes, but don't count on him "falling".
The O-line shoud be a priority this time around and we'd better get some guys who can play.
I, for one, see us taking an O-lineman in the first. Don't know WHO it will be, but I think that Bill wants to be SURE we don't fail in that area this season.
Last year, we faltered because of kicker and O-line. We have already greased one squeaky wheel. Now it's time to take care of the other.....

I would say there's a better chance chance of us drafting a Longhorn...

Michael Huff
Jonathan Scott
Cedric Griffin (would love him in the 3rd)
Rod Wright

I would love to see Dallas getting both Jonathan Scott (2nd) and Cedric Griffin (3rd)

hey, as big an OU fan as I am, I would rather see the Boys getting Huff than any Sooner.. that being said, I dont see it happening.. but I really do see a good chance of us picking one of the Sooners I listed..

I think Dvoreck could rotate at NT, DE or DT in the nickle. I don't think he could be an everydown NT but he could rotate. This is a very strong player for his size. He has power in both lower and upper body but would probably need to get stronger if he were to play more NT in the pros. This guy has had character issues in the past. Anger management issues and he's a hard drinker but I have heard that he has come a long way with this and sitting the 04 season out kinda opened his eyes a bit. Dvoracek has a very good first step and he uses his hands well. I see him being able to play DE, even in a 43 pretty well. Strong side DE in a 43 but in a 34, he would be stout agains the run and prove to be a match up problem in the 34 because of his first step. He is a high motor guy. He works hard when he's on the field. I think he could be a Parcells guy. I think he's a 3rd round pick or so.

Didn't I hear that Scott did fewer bench press reps than LenDale White?? I heard Scott did 14, LenDale did 15... in comparison, Tom Malone, punter for USC at the pro day did 14. A weak OL, no thanks.

Yeah he is weak. Scott has been a very good tackle at Texas and personally I don't care about the combines

This is why I favor a trade down. Personally, I think we could get great value at guard in the 2nd and third rounds.

I agree with ABQ. I think Dvoracek could fill a number of holes on the DL, be a good replacement for Glover, and I think his personality would actually mesh well with Parcells. Parcells doesn't mind passionate players who will get in a teammates face if he thinks they aren't giving it their all. Anger management issues? His best friend is Bobby Knight.

I was kind of projecting my "dream draft" earlier today and it involved a trade down, picking up Joseph in the 2nd and Dvoracek in the 3rd. And I'm not a Sooner fan, by any means.

Pat Kirwin likes him..

via Pat Kirwan:

Quote:
"Talking with Joseph was like talking to an NFL line coach. He's played against the best, remembers everything about every opponent he faced in his four years at Oklahoma, and has an opinion about all of them. Successful NFL offensive linemen usually are some of the brightest guys on a team and Joseph will fit right into that mold. He recalled little subtleties about Oregon's Haloti Ngata from his junior year, stunts that former USC defensive tackle Shaun Cody used in the Orange Bowl two seasons ago, and what his blocking plan would be when he faces Michigan's Gabe Watson again. Any team who interviewed Joseph walked away knowing he was a sure bet to have a long NFL career."

I agree.. and as far as the anger management, he actually put himself in anger management classes and admitted to having a drinking problem and got help.. word is that he has come a long long way.. he was actually a team captain and he had one of the highest wonderlic scores of all players this year..
