We Are In Trouble At The QB Position...

...Very interesting comment Madden made tonight about a conversation he had with Parcells when he took the Dallas job. He asked him how long it would take to turn it around and Parcells said, "it depends on how long it takes me to find a QB."

Well folks, after watching this game, I'm afraid Parcells still hasn't found him a QB.

Bledsoe looks like Aikman, circa 1998-2000. Old, slow, unable to avoid pressure and not able to make things happen on a consistent basis. His mechanics are sloppy and he just doesn't seem to see the field as well as he should for a player with his ability and experience.

Henson clearly isn't ready to play and still plays tight, even though I didn't think he looked as bad as some on here thought. Jerry has already said they will be extremely patient with him, so he might develop in the future, but he's certainly not ready for real bullets now.

Romo is just what I thought he was. A Jason Garrett wannabe. He is probably more prepared to play right now than Henson, but I'm sorry, if you honestly believe he shows big-time skills you are just wishing. There is no way, as I see it, that Romo would hold up in a real game playing against starters and playing against a game plan for him. The guy was an UFA and that is what his skills looked like tonight.

The bottom line is it doesn't look like we have the answer right now at QB, UNLESS, Parcells structures things very well for Bledsoe and he grows into this offense.

I'm afraid we are going to think Vinny didn't look too bad compared to what we may see this year at that position. :(

We have issues at QB, no doubt. I guess we can only hope that the OL play improves on the right side, especially when Rivera gets in there. Bledsoe can make all the throws, but we have to give him time back there, no question. I'm 50/50 on Henson right now, he has the tools, but can he put it together? That INT tonight was an awful read. Romo seems to be what he is, a career backup type that you can bring in here and there to start, but you don't want him starting for an entire season. Could be wrong there, but I don't think so.

I say give bledsoe a little more time before u give up on him. He seemed to get in a little bit of a rhythm on that td drive... finally. It will be interesting to see how he does next week. I agree with u guys though, at times it looks like he is not aware of things going on around him.

Which is why I have been saying all along that we do NOT have our "franchise" QB on this roster yet.

That is pretty well the way I see the 3 QBs right now.

I do believe there is upside with Henson and I don't say that because I am pulling for him. He does have skill even though he's uncomfortable now with the changes they made. Yes he throws some wobblers but he also fires bullets at times. Who knows whether he will ever put it together and become comfortable back there. Look at a guy like Trent Green or Rich Gannon. They looked like below average QBs their first few years in the league and eventually they got their shot at extended play and the light came on for them.

It's unfortunate really....

BP should have played Henson at the end of last year....try him by fire. Perhaps he would have the mental part down a little bit better. I think that is what his problem is.....he's thinking too much instead of letting the game come to him.

Some QB's get over that....some never do and are out of the league within 3 years.

I feel the QB position on this team is a real concern and my concern is not limited to only the two backups........but the starter as well.

So, are you saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same?

Can you tell me which stats in 2003 where QC's and Bledsoe and tell me which one was better. Then think back to 2003 to the wr/rb dallas had and who Buffalo had in 2003 and tell me which one is better.

When you see think about that i bet you go

Show me all the stats you like........until I see better play on the field..my concern will still be there.

I know it's only the 2nd preseason game but, thus far I am not convinced Bledsoe is our saviour.

Kangaroo.....I hope you are right, believe me I do.
