Lots of guys have a video of themselves out there. I could post a video of nearly any draft pick and make them look like beasts.

Choice was right around where he should have been drafted.

Did you watch the video before commenting? His point was about Choice's leadership skills in the lockerroom and had nothing to do with his on the field performance. The post did not mention that we got a steal for the pick either, so your comment doesn't seem to fit unless you simply did not watch the video or read the post.

I like the player but I admit I question the pick of RB at that point. I think it is hard enough to get enough carries for 2 back let alone a 3rd RB.

Yeah... I am still scratching my head at that pick. Not saying he wont be good... cause who knows.

I didnt see the need to draft 2 RB's.

you have to have 3 running backs, first we all know or at least from what i could see in the playoff game, barber ran out of steam after 1st half, granted the offensive line wasnt blocking,

but since barber cant take full load, you have to have another running back like felix jones now to take load off of him and be another dimension to running, kinda like the jacguars have with their 2 running backs;

next, what if something happened to barber, i dont think felix jones can take the full load, at least not in his first year; so makes sense to have another good backup rb;

then on to what guy was saying about choice, i have heard that choice is player like emmitt smith in regards to playing with heart and fire, something that is sorely needed on this team;

i will take that further by saying this, we need some leaders on this team that can kick butt towards other players when they arent toing the line, or they arent giving their all;

kinda like one big game against the 49ers, and charles haley was hurt, he was on the sidelines following leon lett after he had made a bone headed play, or like in a big playoff game, i think it was the 92 playoff game against 49ers in candlestick park, and our young defenders were falling apart on the sidelines, and haley was saying, let the coaches help us, they are trying to do what is best for us to win;

its kinda like Tom Landry said, once, something like this, leaders are men that have great confidence and control, be in control of the situation, and others will see that and follow, believe in you and win;

then further like chad hennings said, jimmy johnson instilled a swagger in this team, and built confidence in themselves that they could win no matter what, and they belived in jimmy and what he said, they will win, etc,

thats where to me choice comes in, he lays it on the line, as a player, and he will take prisnoners if he has to,, or kick butt when he has too, challenge his teammates, thats what we need on this team;

kinda like a reporter said awhile back, the spurs werent winners, awhile back when they were real young, but when they got a few old veterans, that knew what it took to win, and be champions, and those few veteran players that the spurs acquired, they kicked players butts when they had too, set examples of how you play to win, etc, then the spurs became champions, thats what we need on this team;

i have hope some now, because of what i saw tony romo said something along those lines, he hates to lose, and when another team tells him we beat you because were better than you because you didnt lay it all on the line, etc, then romo said that irks him, like troy aikman, he hated to lose, he expected all of his teammates to work hard and practice hard , thats what is needed to my mind;

you can never have enough leaders, just like harvey martin, randy white, charley waters, said, they believed in Roger Staubach, they knew he would play to win, and he could win the big games, etc in overtime or the final minutes, players will follow leaders that are in control and want it

just my thoughts;

We lost 1 RB and an UDFA who played how much? How many carries did Thompson get? Jones and Barber together got the carries and that at times was hard to split at times. I like Choice I think he is a good guy and a good player but I guess until I see how Dallas plans on using them I'm left questioning the selection of a 2nd RB in the draft.

Yeah but we lost an rb who could carry the load if one went down to injury.We gained 2 rb's who could carry the load, but one of them adds 2 dimensions that none of the others had.Jones can be an excellent special teams guy and adds a dimension on offense that was not there before.If you step back and look at what they intend to do here its not that hard to figure out.I think you will see all three involved as this philosophy evolves.Jones and Barber on the field a lot together and Choice will spell Barber at times.There are a lot more possibilities with what we have than we ever had before.Just my opinion but it does make sense.

Tashard is there for insurance at rb...... Hes very talented and I think he has room and time to develop into a really good player. Just because your not a 1st rounder doesnt mean you have less heart than one. If anything you may end up working harder knowing your job is not a garauntee. I just love the guys leadership qualities. He doesnt take playing football for granted. We need more guy s like Tashard... I love his attitude. So here is to Jerry Jones and the 2008 draft. This draft may be comparible to the 2005 draft we had. Well be looking back at this draft in 3 years and be extremely pleased.

According to an article in DC.com, both Chris Long, DE, Virginia, & Calais Campbell, DL, Miami, said that Choice was the toughest RB they ever had to tackle. He refuses to go down, and has been quoted as saying that he loves the Barbarian's style & loves to watch him play.

I think he loves to watch him play because Choice patterns a lot of his own style after Barber's.

I think it's ridiculous to say we lost 2 RBs & gained 2, as if their the same. Julius Jones played like he had no vision or improvisational skills his last two yrs. here. Tyson Thompson was a ST player & a 3rd string backup. Felix Jones doesn't just follow the called play like a robot, no matter if it breaks down or not. He follows the light, so to speak, and is what we thought JJ would be. Choice is coming in as Barber's backup. If the Barbarian goes down, Choice is good enough to fill in, with an increased dose of Felix Jones, of course.

This is definately an improved RB corps.

I have no problem with drafting the second back. If Barber's contract demands do not change you need to know if you have a 3rd guy you can count on. That is what we did at CB too IMO. Just covering our bases this year so we know what we have when we make the tough contract decisions on Newman and Barber next year.

Like they said, it was a strong class of RB's and CB's. Take them and if you keep Newman and Barber you have great depth. If not you have yourself covered.

Why take players at positions you are stocked at when you are really not sure they will make the team.

I think the staff is 99% confident that their first 5 picks will make the team!

I loved the pick.

Frankly I am glad we went this route to get a 3rd RB instead of signing some over the hill vet with little tread left (Eddie George type) that would have cost considerable more.

This pick actually helped me feel better about taking Felix Jones in Round 1.

Choice is more of an every-down type running back.

He's good insurance against Barber getting injured.

He's also insurance in case Barber and the Cowboys can't agree on a long-term contract.

I heard Mel say this morning that if not for a knee injury last year that he could have been in the heisman talk in 07. May or may not be a true account, but he was having a great year. Also, didn't realize he was backing up AP in Okl and transfered to GA TECH. I like the guy and like the pick.

As I said we sit back and see how it plays out. This clearly would be a change from last season. All in all within a game Dallas may run it 30 time between 2 backs that is about 15 carries each I doubt it would even work out with Jones and Barber getting equal carries it seldom does when teams are using a 2 backs which would not leave much in terms of carry for a 3rd RB. Don't get me wrong I like Choice and think he is both a good guy and a good RB I'm just not overly sold on grabbing a RB after we selected F. Jones. I'm willing to keep an open mind until we see how this all works.

Very emotional guy, definitely a leader.

Choice's best attribute is hit cut back ability, he makes great cuts in the hole and really finds ways to get to the 2nd level.

His knock however, is the breakaway speed to take it to the house. Don't be surprised if he is getting between 5-7 touches down the stretch next year. I want Barber to be as fresh as possible to pound defenses in December/January next season.
