he is our best lineman by far even though Free is playing well.

I didn't watch the game. How did we do at RG? What was the ratio of Bern to Waters in terms of playing time? And who looked better?

Totally agree with the OP and two other things to consider - Fred and Leary will get better with more reps and the entire unit should player better as a unit as they get comfortable with the scheme and playing with the same starting five each week.

And what we saw today was pretty good to start with.

Ummm...he totally whiffed at least once. Romo saved him from giving up 1-2 sacks.
He's solid....but no way I see him as a super star yet...just saying. I don't think he's in any position to break the bank yet.

I like what I've seen out of Tyron but I think he's just the one with by far the most potential. As far as on-field I wouldn't say he's necessarily played better than Free let alone by far better.

Quinn is a very good DE,he did get beat inside once though by a LB.

Ummm...losing one play out of 60-70 isn't something to be upset about. And that's assuming you're not pulling stuff out of your rear; I don't remember a whiff at all.

He has been excellent all year. Shut out JPP, Quinn, and Houston (who has 7 sacks in KC's other 2 games). We have a stud on our hands.

He is left on an Island A LOT! He will miss a few times, when he is completely alone out there. There was an excellent analysis done last year near the end of the season, and Tyron is NOT given a ton of help consistently. We might be playing with multiple tight ends a lot more, but on pass plays, they aren't helping him out as much as Free's side, and haven't since he's been here.
Considering that, I think Tyron played significantly better last year than he was given credit for, and is somewhat under-rated already, despite as young as he is.
Leary is helping compared to Livings etc...
Imagine if Tyron had a pro-bowl guard to play beside? Waters will teach him how to be mean - this is a huge benefit of having him added to the team. Toughness he brings to the young guys.

His potential is through the roof, but he still has stuff to work on thats for sure. Romo doesnt escape and this thread is quite different, imo.

There were also a couple of run plays where he really struggled to get any push.

But, you have to put in perspective how Dallas is using him. They're putting him all ALONE on an island with the opposing teams best DE, and shifting the rest of the OL to provide help to the other OLinemen. This has been discussed in blogs how Tyron will have almost half the field to himself as he blocks 1-on-1 and will get absolutely no help from any TE, RB, or G. So, if he occasionally lets a DE loose, that's to be expected. NO OT in the league could do any better.
