Make no mistake about it, we do have a cushion. But we can't play like we do. Dallas needs to do three things today above all else.

1. Take care of their own business and not rely on the Giants, Eagles, or next week to work things out. Just work them out by kicking butt today. Go ahead and crush Philly's last hope today.

2. They need to pull even on their own turf. We cannot be 3-5 at home. 4-4 is bad enough. 3-5 would be disastrous.

3. They have to erase past December folds. December has routinely been our worst month and that dates all the way back to the last few years under Landry. We have fewer wins in December than any other month. Granted part of that reason is because the regular season used to end and the playoffs began in December, and we did fine in the playoffs. But it isn't just that. The most lopsided stat in any game log of the Dallas Cowboys is found in how we fare in season finales. Today is not the finale, but it sets us up for the finale. We need to establish momentum going into Washington. We can't go in there and give them the chance to play spoiler against us again. We need to go into that season finale on a roll and close out our first ever 8-0 record on the road.

We have a cushion, but there can be no cushion. Take care of business today Dallas. Your fans deserve a Merry Christmas.

More cushion, more pushin.

Our boys will leave it all on the field. These guys want to prove everybody wrong. Time to put the Eagles to sleep. They failed to throw Philly a blow our last time at home and now they can deliver that blow today.

I don't feel comfortable at all about it.

But I can't imagine this team getting swept by the Commanders.

I agree with you hostile it drives me crazy how this team plays in December when they have everything to play for. this season reminds me of 2008 when all this team had to do was win the last home game of the year against the ravens and it seemed like they came in that game expecting to just walk out with a win. then on the last game of the year they had to go in a hostile eagles game and had to win to make the playoffs just to get blown out. I hope that witten and romo remember that game and does not let that happen again. I think that they are the only two veterans left from that season.

I'm almost at the point where I preferred the Iggles winning last night to keep the pressure on the Boys.

We need to come out with piss and fire, with everything on the line. We can't come out flat.

The only thing that would have been good about an Eagles win would have been them ending up 11-5 and still out of the playoffs. I have to admit, the sadistic side of me towards Eagles fans would have loved that.

Losing is better. I am enjoying their pain.

Too true. At the same time, they would have focused all their energy on the perceived unfairness of the current playoff structure, claiming that they had a playoff worthy team that just happened to draw a historically short end of the stick. In other words, they still would have found some level of satisfaction with the season. But now? Now they know their team is a bunch of frauds who have no one to blame but themselves. And they learned this five days before Christmas. And four days before Christmas, the Cowboys are going to drop another present under the Eagles' Christmas tree, beating the Colts and destroying all hope that they can find a way to salvage their season.

Merry Christmas, Eagles fans! It is going to be a GREAT Christmas for Cowboys fans, thanks! Your team belongs on the Island of Misfit Toys.

If the O-line and Murray were in good shape, I think Dallas would come out looking to take Indy to the woodshed today. Since that's not the case, and since some pressure has been taken off of them, I'm afraid they drop this one and once again, it's a week 17 win and you're in scenario. Personally, I'm a little tired of that scenario, considering how it tends to end for Dallas in recent history, and I highly suspect the Skins will be fired up for that game.

I like it and even if next weeks game has no meaning, there is a part of me that thinks they should take the approach the Giants did against the Pats in 07 and try and win a meaningless game for the sake of making the statement that things have changed and give all the haters a big F off by going 8-0 on the road, 4-0 in December and closing out the season by SMASHING the skins.

Its probably not technically correct to risk injury but something feels right to me about closing out the season this way as a nice start to the post season.

But if Romo or someone else got injured, it would be a HUGE back fire.

I too worry about some of the intensity and urgency not being there today. Allowing the Eagle loss to affect their attitude is only natural. However, I also have started to believe this team is different from previous years and will want to make a statement today. Hope I'm right.

I don't feel comfortable at all about it.

But I can't imagine this team getting swept by the Commanders.

I can't believe I'm saying this howver I have never felt more comfortable about a game.
1. Colts have not much to play for and they are beat up.
2. We have everything to play for including a long and elusive nfc east title. (At home).
3. This teams hears the home game concerns and wants to exercise those demons as well as the "December woes".
4. They want to wear their warm ups on the plane. Meaning they see the potential rest they will have next week if they take care of business and who wants to play a Commander D in their house at full force. Remember what happened earlier this season.
5. This DC team is confident and good. They have beaten some good teams and fully bought into Garret's system. Time to step up.
6. Romo is hearing the "Luck stuff" and going to play lights out however Lineham will keep his feet on the ground.
7. We're frickin due fellas. It's our year to get on a roll and contend instead of pretend.
8. Our defense is starting to show on turnovers. We're not the leading sack bunch but they tackle hard and look for the ball. It's going to pay off.
I could go on and on.

The Colts are still playing for a potential bye. As long as those odds are, it's there.

The intensity will be there, remember that this is a different team. They will come to play. JG will have them motivated, though they will motivate themselves.
JG's challenge, is to temperall that, and keep them focused on the field. Direct that energy to sound smart playing.
