however, the staff needs to use him better.
JJ is at his best when in the open field, when he gets some room to run and JJ can run , he was a returner at ND, so he has big time wheels.
We NEED to get JJ the ball thru the air - we need to get him some middle screens and get him outside where he turn the corner.
I sat there last nite with my mouth open as I watched JJ run up the gut into Grady Jackson's Overhang sack over and over and over. It was moronic play calling and game scripting, Julius is a speed guy - get him going with 3-4 catches a game -I know his hands aren't the best, but he can catch and over the middle dump off with room to run.

They need to have him as a dump off option on every pass play he is in for. Keep the FB in to block. If other teams are going to go at us with passes to the backs, lets do it to them as well. The O line was not run blocking well last night untill the 4th QTR when the Falcons D line was out of gas.

I do not understand what we are trying to do with JJ any more than I understand what they are doing putting Roy into coverage situations. Hoyte was inactive last night and I still don't understand why.

Well then Jones needs to learn to not hit the biggest pile on the field and fall down.

I am one of JJs biggest fans, but Barbers kicking his butt out there. Same defense, Barbar fights for 10 yards. Jones falls down for 1. I think Parcells has Jones so freaked out he follows the play to the letter of the law. Even when he sees half the field to his right, he will go left cause thats what the play calls for. Barbers just new enough yet the he still has and uses his instincts. Or maybe hes smart enought to know when to deviate from the play. I dont know what it is, but after watching Barber gain ground on the same d that Jones gets stuffed by, I just dont know anymore.

I like jones, but am impressed with Barber atm. Jones needs to return to the 2004 swirving and juking form that we all fell in love with. He could be traded for an Olineman that will help Barber run for more if hes not careful.

ANd yet BP keeps saying that JJ is running the way he wants him to.

I think I've never seen anyone want that touchdown as much as Barber, but are you sure it's the same defense he's running against. Was Hambrick running against the same defense Emmit was? (obviously not a perfect comparison, but you get the point)

I'm not sure why people are looking at this JJ/MB situation as one versus the other...

Parcells has made it very clear that he likes 2 BACKS he can count on and keeping them fresh for the stretch run...

For one second think about how fortunate we are to have to pretty good backs...

This is an ideal situation and really shouldn't be looked at any other way...

Dude there were no holes! that sounds easy! Don't fall down!?? haha man I was a Varsity running back on 2 State Championship teams in New Jersey in the late 1980's - you have no idea what it's like to have tunnel vision and be stuffed...no matter your speed - you can't spin out of a guy like JAckson who is pushing your guard back into the backfield! What's you want JJ to do?

When Landry beat Shula in the Superbowl - he ran entirely up the middle in the 1st half with semi success - in the 2nd half - every run Dallas had was a pitch outside and it worked like a charm.
I fail to see 2nd half adjustments on this staff.

actually we are trying to get him into space.

i was at the game last night and the blocking has been substandard for julius.

on barbers 2 first half runs we had a 13 yard gain and a 1 yard gain. on the 13 yarder the blocking was real good on the 1 yarder it looked like julius blocking.

THEN on the final drive marion picked up all his yards. the atlanta defense was tired. trust me i watched them. they were not flying to the ball at all. and marion took advantage. i love barber in there but dont act like julius is just terrible.

two sepearte plays his blocking fell apart completely. it was stupid parcells went to gurode a few time and gave him a stare after julius had been shut down because he(gurode) missedthe assignment. on one of them julius was going to bounce it out wide but gurode pushed his mna RIGHT INTO THE HOLE. we as fans could not believe it! unbelievable.

anyway the team played great. we have a 1000 yard back. (we should have 2 1000 yard recievers by the end of the year)

i dont have much to complain about on the offense except some run blocking inconsistency.

on the defesnive side demarcus was getting chewed out all night for the FB plays. every time they were to his side.
