We don't have a running problem

Again, point out what game that we didn't run the ball well outside of the games that JG ABANDONED it! You can't cause it was effective while Murray was healthy when he was given the rock. The run game is ineffective is just ignorant!! Not one game this season where we trailed by so much that the run game had to be abandoned, not ONE! If you bring up Denver, we had a 2-score lead and lost it by passing which forced more throws to catch back up. Up 2 scores on Peyton should have been a mandatory call of runs to keep him off the field, but not us. We dumb and some of y'all are ignorant in the truest form for thinking the run game is/was ineffective when stats show Murray was producing running the rock. Randle was even productive his first start replacing Murray. We have a lack of commitment problem like the OP SMARTLY identified!

You shouldn't be calling anyone dumb or ignorant when you say "we dumb and y'all are ignorant"... SMH good lord this guy will be the first to see my ignore list.

It's the way this team runs is the problem. They don't run from the shotgun so teams know when they are in shotgun they are throwing the ball. So when Romo goes under the center it's pretty obvious what's about to come. He rarely passes while being under center. This is a huge problem with this scheme. You average almost 22 carries a game you should be running more effectively. I don't think the run/pass ratio is that out of whack considering its a passing league. If they could run more effectively within the scheme it would be better for the team. But that won't change until JG realizes his scheme is severely flawed which of course he won't.

Red has always had terrible formation / personnel "tells" in his game plan. He doesn't take any self scouting to heart.

We've been fairly consistent attempting to run the ball on early downs. We're ineffective at it, though, especially with Murray out, and it's contributing to our 3rd down conversion problems. We need to be getting a new set of downs on 2nd downs, where we can, and to be in more 3rd-and-managables where we can take advantage of Beasley and the TEs keep the chains moving. More 'commitment' to ineffective running is just going to hurt us.

I remember four running plays from the Lions game that together really disappointed me.
1st down-Randle runs for 7 yards, setting up second and 3.
2nd down- Randle off tackle to the left. The safety crashed into the backfield and made a tackle for a three yard loss.

Later in the game:
1st down-Randle runs for 8 yards, setting up second and 2.
2nd down- Randle off tackle to the left. The safety crashed into the backfield and made a tackle for a three yard loss.

It was like deja vu all over again. Evidently while watching game film, Detroit noticed a strong trend in the play calling and expected it. And then the trend continued as the exact same play was run again in almost the exact same situation with the exact same result. I think they call it "predictable" play calling.

It isn't the commitment that is the problem, it is the lack of variety in the play selection. Back in the day, everybody knew the lead draw was coming but they couldn't stop it. This team isn't good enough to run the ball in that manner.

Says the guy that can't stop replying to my posts!! Go play in traffic if you're not gonna bring any substance to the convo!

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner. Yup and what was even more frustrating is the defense telegraphed this the whole way and Romo did not audible or adjust to the blitz. They were just content running it into the teeth of the blitz.

Also after the 4th down stop Dallas hands the ball off pulling the OG and the LB blitzed the vacated hole for another loss. Why not just line up and hand it off instead of getting cute and trying to pull the OG when yards were at a premium?

That's what frustrates me with this coaching staff they don't adjust they stick to their tendencies to a fault.
