Exactly. I’m just delighted the guy’s out the door. Clark & Williams, with Osa & Thomas as the backup pairing, and Toia spare (with Perrion Winfrey also on the books) is a world apart from having to start Mazi like last year.

I almost forgot all about Perrion Winfrey. If he can be a solid rotational guy the Cowboys are really set on the interior.

Now if EZ keeps developing as an edge rusher, we'd be cooking for real.

Saying the DL has out performed the LBer’s and the DB’s is not saying much. There have been games they have been absolutely run all over, and games their pass rush was almost no existent, but yeah maybe slightly better, maybe, than the back 7.

I've read a lot of crazy things today, but this is the craziest. A 4th, seriously? There is no universe in which Mazi returns even a 7th-round pick. Maybe a conditional 7th, maybe a swap of 7ths, maybe even a swap of 6ths, but absolutely no more than that.

Mazi honestly strikes me as a guy who views football as a means to make some cash. He has no real passion or drive for it. Just a body who did enough in college to get a decent payday as a #1 pick. Will probably be out of the league in 4 - 5 years.

Why would you expect to get anything for Mazi? He has 3 tackles on the season with 0 sacks. He has been put on the inactive list for 4 of the 9 games this season. He was on his way to getting cut by the Cowboys. Should have already been cut. The only thing keeping him around is that he was still on his rookie contract.

That helped us because they took Mazi’s salary and saved us a roster spot. And Mazi still has a job so everyone wins. Mazi was worse than garbage here, I don’t think we could have gotten a 7th for him cuz everyone knew he would be cut.
