Unless you don't trust Will McClay ..
Beer in the reefer .. I wake up at 11 .. Pop one as Norm Hitzges or the boys at 105.3 the Fan are wondering what the heck we get for the 4th pick of that early morning Saturday (4th pick of the 4th round that is) that day - plus another comp pick later in that round ..
Probably more than 6 picks that day as we have traded down some. .. But a good chance that we have a few more picks .. if Jerry trusts Will ..
No 5th rounder. A good chance we will try to trade down somewhere to get a 5th rounder because we're trying to find value everywhere - that is, so we don't spend a 6th round pick on a 5th round talent .. if we can get that 5th rounder cheap in trade that is .. Cowboys are thinking this deep and want to get a 5th round pick that might be on their board a 4th rounder ..
Last year in 7th: Nzeocha and Gibson - Gibson out of the league I think.. UDFAs: not much but Lucky Whitehead.
The trick is to: get tiny guys, sort of like Whitehead:
-A tiny short QB or undervalued Drew Brees like - I think of Vernon Adams, Boykin, The B. Green QB Matt Johnson
My thought: if we draft a QB like Prescott get another one like the above too.
Dear Cowboyszoners: Has there "EVER" been in preseason - competition for the 2nd or 3rd QB? .. not that I can remember .. in memory .. dear lord not Stephen McGee or Dustin Vaughan ..
Note TO Wade Wilson: if a UDFA QB or late round QB sucks like McGee or Vaughan his first preseason games and he can't do anything much - try to get another QB the next year. McGee or Vaughan are "developmental QBs" meaning that they sucked in training camp and in preseason. Cut them and get another QB the next year. Don't hang on for 2-3 years.
Yeah cauz Dunbar has a pretty profound injury from what I've read .. find a late round UDFA little scooter .. and do better finding a UDFA receiver.
Love Will McClay in the early rounds but something in the formula, or else the scouting talent, sucks ..
