We need to find our Fred Warner at LB!

I do like the addition of Logan Wilson, he should stabilize the mike linebacker position and be a big upgrade over who we had starting. Even if he lost a step, he is still a solid option. My biggest worry is Overshown. Can he stay healthy? He is more of a flash player who isn't considered a strong coverage linebacker.

I am looking for an high iq, instinctive linebacker who excels in coverage. Haven't studied the class as of yet, but these are the attributes I am seeking.
We have Demarvion Overshown...

Ohio St. has two linebackers that Dallas needs to keep their eyes on. Linebacker might be our biggest need.

Just watched the other linebacker from Osu and came away very impressed. I agree, they need a stud linebacker, that an an edge rusher.

Safety and cornerback too. Not gonna lie I love the 1 techs in this draft. Multiple 6’4 325+ guys in this draft that have talent. Put Williams and OSA next to a monster. Look out out!!!!

Sonny Styles or Anthony Hill Jr.
Who are you taking?

I don't watch UT all that often but noticed he has 17 sacks in 3 years. I assume he's pretty good at passrushing or is the DC setting him up for some clear lanes?

I get nervous when teams have a lot of talent on one side of the ball, because it makes everyone's job significantly easier and potentially over valued.
Like the Georgia boys on Philadelphia…….

Rodriquez may not have the speed of the freaks but the ability to diagnose and make plays on the football is elite. The club peanut punch out is a thing of beauty
So far this season he already has 7 forced fumbles and 3 picks...and 1 sack.

Rodriguez is going to be a strange pick.

He has the film and the talent. But we know how the process goes and he likely ends up 3rd or 4th rounder.

Somebody like Detroit or Baltimore drafts him and he is an All Pro
He might go in 2nd round.

I did watch Styles this week and read some of his scouting reports to see if I am seeing the same thing-he is an elite coverage linebacker, especially in zone and needs some development as a every down linebacker since he is new to the position. In my opinion, he looks like a good will linebacker prospect, but I do think he needs some development. I think he is more in play with our Green Bay pick.

I see Styles making all the plays off the ball, where Reese is making them all behind the line of scrimmage, he is very much like Parsons as a rusher, might be the better overall player. Really interested in seeing how he tests out at the combine. No doubt, he is worthy of a top 5 selection.

Parsons is the guy I’d comp Arvell Reese with too. I think teams will value his pass rush ability.

I’ve turned the corner on Anthony Hill Jr. I think he’s a really intelligent player that makes some really good reads, especially in coverage. He’s can be a good player in the right scheme.

The one thing I don’t like is that he’s not the most physical when taking on blocks or fighting through the line. That’s one thing that would drive me nuts watching LVE and Jaylon. LB is a physical position and sometimes to successfully defend a play you have to do the hardwork of blowing up a block to allow your teammates to rally to the ball and fill the lane.

With those OSU backers, I see one who rushes the passer the other is excellent in coverage. We need both type of players.

I haven't watched anyone in this draft class, and won't until Christmas. But in general, LB is a position I like to fade.

The stereotype of an LB is some no-neck physical beast, but it's one of the most mentally demanding positions on the field, and you can get by with average athleticism. You cannot get by at LB with poor instincts. I would much rather have an Anthony Hitchens than a Jaylon Smith.

Obviously, if you find a stud athlete who also has great instincts like Fred Warner, that's your ticket. But the guys who get drafted top 50 at all positions are the rare athletes, and you don't need a rare athlete at LB the same way you need one at say boundary corner or DE.
