We need Zeke!

I’ve heard it all now. Elliott has been holding back Dak and his amazing passing game. Lol

Maybe it’s not all opposing fans in here just some Slobbering Daksters.

Sean Lee missed most of three of those games as well.

My point is, other than the ATL game, if Zeke had played, we would have been more likely to have gone 4-1 or 5-1 than with whomever else we had at RB.

Ok. But that’s just saying he’s our best RB. We’re better with him than without. Fine. That doesn’t get me to ‘we need him’. Certainly not at any cost.

I actually think this is prefect. Zeke being the moron that he is and bad decision maker is helping transition the offense to the passing game. Let the punk rot in Cabo. Moore and Dak will be turning the passing game into the strength that it needs to become.

Amari Cooper is the real straw that stirs the drink I think. He looks un-coverable in all the footage I've seen just like he looked last season. If he gets hurt all bets are off with or without Zeke this season....

Zeke wants around 60 million for 4 years (i would imagine) , that would make him the highest paid RB in the world.
Its either that or cabo .
Until I hear an official number from either party it’s just noise. But I’d expect he want something near Gurley. And why wouldn’t that be reasonable ?

Drop the mic! No if, ands or buts! We wanna win, we need Zeke!!! I like Dak, but HE needs Zeke!! He cannot carry this team with his arm. Just like Troy couldn't carry us without Emmitt. Dak, tell Jerry to give Zeke a few of your millions or you may be exposed.
Brutally stark, yet ever so eloquent in it's fiscal feasibility of sound bizness practices:thumbup:

Because the Rams overpaid. And because, aside from raw yardage (where he benefits from more touches), he hasn’t really been as productive as Gurley, particularly the past two seasons in the area of scoring.

Saying that, the Jones family has made it clear (regrettably) that they're prepared to pay Gurley money. So that can't be the hold-up.

I think its Jason Garrett , players know they can't go anywhere in the post season with him.

..only Zeke can save himself. If he listens to the wrong people, it will be a long season for him.

What about Elliotts impact on keeping defenses honest since Daks downfield passing ability doesn’t ?

How do we measure that?

The cost is what’s currently being negotiated.

As for needing him, this team is built for the run and ball-control — featuring a workhorse #1 RB.

If this holdout situation goes south (which, admittedly, I doubt), and we’re without Zeke for any length of time in the regular season, there’s no RB on the foreseeable horizon who can adequately replace him.

Or do you not remember “wide-receiver-by-committee”?

I was told by some here that we didn't need any #1 WR. And then we did.

I'm actually not sure what you mean by this. I think all you mean is that opposing Ds focus on stopping Zeke first and would rather take their chances on having Dak beat them through the air. Even accepting for the moment that this is true (I'm not sure it is: as I recall, the statistics on the percentage of loaded boxes he faces don't suggest that Ds load up to stop the run against the Cowboys any more than they do against most teams) a similar argument could probably be made to prop up Gurley. Opposing Ds probably worry more about Gurley than Goff. I still think he was overpaid, relative to what I consider an appropriate cap allocation for a position of secondary importance, and I think Zeke would be overpaid in that range too.
