We should keep Sam Williams for the right price

I believe Williams should be brought back on a cheap deal. He is surprisingly making some big plays. The blocked punt and the forced fumble plus I don't know what his pressure rate is but he seems to be in the backfield quite a bit. I don't remember any bonehead plays this year. We had the tragic loss of Kneeland and Clowney and Fowler I believe are on one year contracts. If the price is right I think we should keep Williams. What say you?

On a cheap deal, yes. Talks more than he delivers but at least he's not out breaking team rules, etc. and we need bodies on the line for next season. His bonehead play this year was injuring Blue in training camp (I forget who else he injured in TC prior to that). Maybe Blue would have had a different path if he got to play earlier (didn't do himself any favors after that but still).

We are going to have Pickens, Lamb, Prescott and 3 DTs on big contracts. Other spots will need to be filled with cheap FAs and draft picks. I think Sam Williams will be out of our price range just because of the position that he plays. Somebody will over pay for his DE potential.

Did him and DQ have something? Wonder if DQ will try to recruit him to Washington.

Sure, but no guaranteed money or very little. He's playing like a late round draft pick, certainly not a 2nd-rounder.

he’s a guy i see breaking out elsewhere. woukd love to keep him personally, even if i understand the criticisms
Yup and someone will pay him more than we want at the start of free agency, peace!!!

I’m a bigger Sam Williams supporter than most, but I’d only be interested in bringing him back on a super team friendly deal. He’s been a disappointment as a pass rusher this season.

He hasn’t done enough to warrant an extension of any kind.
I think a small one why not something small but reasonable for both sides, I said everyone around here say that it takes longer than one year to get back to normal and be stronger faster and better after a major knee injury didn't he just come back from one of those so that means next year he could be even more improved if he doesn't get injured again this year means he has a full training camp starts game one not on IR etc...

It just depends on the money I say he has at least deserved at least a extension of some kind you say none of any kind I don't know about that we have too many of those guys leaving like are you keeping Fowler?Clowney?

I know we're going to draft a pass rusher whether that's an outside linebacker or a regular defensive end We need another pass rusher but we also need these type of guys every team has them you have to have a rotation..

Given the fact that Sam Williams if he stays healthy stays on the right path He's the fastest off the edge the youngest player at all those guys He has the best athletic measurements anyway I mean he the dude looks like Parsons when he comes off the edge but he's not Parsons finishing but he could be something better than what we've seen I think he's been improving every week..

Look if he leaves I won't care so I'm not trying to pull for the guy but I'm trying to tell you that we're losing an awful lot of players and they're gonna be hard to fill who's gonna be better to fill those spots with besides the guys we're talking about right now So you'll have easy E on one edge probably whoever we draft on the other but he's going to be brought along kind of slow right do you need some of these kinds of veterans...

I think I’d been tough to grade this unit based on having 3 DCs in three years straight. Sam Williams got hurt by that more then anyone as did Mazi.

Nope, he's been a huge disappointment. His production can easily be replaced
Sadly.....Sam can't play the run. He loses containment all the time....will get destroyed by TEs in the run game.

I think he's got better the last few weeks....thinking he may have had some rust/knee issues. But the arrival of Quinton Williams....He has taken his game to another level.....but still don't trust him to give him a big contract. I need to see some discipline.

If he can be had on a very friendly deal than sure, why not? He’s been getting better as the season has gone on and would be serviceable as a rotational player. I would not pay significant money on the deal though, and I’d think another team is likely to price him out of Dallas.
