We should make a splash with Megatron this offseason

He isn't even a free agent, which makes this whole topic very perplexing.

The quality of posting around here has fallen off the cliff. I usually come....shake my head at at posts...and leave. I don't know maybe I'm just not patient with stuff anymore....or something.

why not, we should've sold the farm for Peterson and squandered that opportunity. Megatron can do to our passing game what Peterson would've done to our running game.

shouldn't let this opportunity pass us up.. i'm with you

Selling the farm for Peterson would have gained you nothing. You wouldn't want to pay for a high priced FA and not get the same bang you would for a less expensive FA.

What's the story on Hardy?

I'm not totally against it as I am most FAs brought up though.

He could still get cut or perhaps traded with a renegotiated contract.

Should have checked. Just assumed he was going to be a FA. Likely not going anywhere.

I love twitter so this isn't a shot at that but the posts here have become that.

140 characters of "look at me".
Very few posts have anything substantive or logical at all backing up whatever crazy headline pron subject they chose for a title.

Older people/posters are used ot basic American structure... make a point, back that point up, restate the point.
This is much more like haiku postings or feel good art posters. Make a strong touchy feely point. Get out.

If this year proved anything it is that we are not "A" player away at any position except maybe QB.
So if you sold the farm it would have had to be for Cam Newton or Tom Brady... nothing else really matters for 2015.

With a healthy Romo and Dez who knows.

But the running game was our most successful aspect. Being better there nice, but not real important to more wins.
Once we have a hold or do something silly nopt even Peterson is getting us down the field without a passing offense.

There is a reaosn eh has won so few playoff games even though he is a generational talent and far surpasses his peers.

You have to pass to win; and defend the pass. Our running game is fine. I would bring back Turbin, Dunbar and DMac and draft a RB in the middle rounds. I'd also look at a big RB in the FA market, low rounds and a UDFA. You can also look for another Dunbar type back. That's more than enough to address that and I expect all this to be done although I'm not certain they will get a big RB. They seem stuck on a FB. I'd go big RB for those two back sets. If you can find a FB who can block, run, and catch then I'm all for it. That's my definition of a big RB with can block.

They should look at drafting a QB with the first pick. I'm not certain this is the right year for that. They are going to have to start drafting and searching under every rock for a QB to replace Romo.

I'd look at a big WR like Jeffries or Marshall. Drafting one shouldn't be off the table even in the first.

My choice for using a high pick would be DL esp edge rusher or a great 3 and DB esp a big CB or a ballhawking S.

I don't think anyone would argue that we couldn't win the SB if Romo stayed healthy.

The line between playoffs and missing out is a fine one. Every game is competitive and there are no superteams. I doubt anyone FEARS the 14-1 Panthers.

Next year I still think we are closer to the top than the bottom. We added 3 #1 picks last year, have a ton of good picks this year and have the money to sign a FA or 4.

One big move might make the difference.

I haven't read all 8 pages but let me just say re: the OP; I would rather draft Treadwell on a much cheaper deal who is going to be significant in the league for a longer period of time

no thanks. I've learned never to overpay for an older WR or to give up draft picks for them either. Draft the talent and groom them.
