Green woulda still been there in the 4th. Flowers would have been a steal at the end of the third round. He's gonna be a player. Too late now though. He went to the Patriots.

He is a decent player but limited.

At as 266 pound DE he was slower in all of the speed and agility measurements than a 293 pound DT.

Have to agree with that, Green would have still been there.

I agree but there's a domino effect. Yeah, you might have gotten Chaz Green in the 4th round but then you risk not getting Damien Wilson. Or then Ryan Russell.

I would have taken Flowers over Green though. Definitely.

No need with Ryan Russell who is already looking like he will be a perfect fit on the left end. I will say i would have liked to have TJ Clemmings over Green though. If Clemmings could live up to the 1-2 grade he was given by pretty much every media site then this O line would have been finished off for the next 10 or so years.

How do you know that Green would have been there? The answer is you flat out don't. The Cowboys, at that point, saw tackles that could play snaps on both sides this year disappearing and decided they had to have what they felt was one of the last ones and they took him. Flowers might have been the better pick right now, but if we had an injury to Free or Smith without a viable swing tackle we're moving the entire line around to make up for that injury.

Five OLinemen got drafted between the Cowboys 3rd and 4th round picks. And five got taken right before the Cowboys drafted at 3.

When there's a range of opinions about drafting a player, you aren't competing against the consensus, you are going up against the teams with the next highest opinion of that guy.

After drafting Gregory in the 2nd, why would you want Flowers in the third? Did you forget we drafted Lawrence last year who will need play time this year, and also signed DE Hardy? So, he gets the play time? Personally I wish the Cowboys had drafted T.J. Clemmings in the third.

Clemmings would have been a good pick in the 3rd round and a better pick than Green.

I told someone that the chances of us taking flowers were very slim. He did not want to listen but frankly it was not some kind of soothsayer ability...just pay attention prior to the draft and you would have known that Flowers was probably not going to be drafted by the boys.

So even if we did not take Green in the third...doubt we would have taken Flowers in his place.

Have to say we could have gotten a lot of people in the 3rd and picked up Green later. a RB, a CB, a KR and PR the list is endless.

Measurables are measurables and those are bad for a DE, hope he doesn't turn into a T-Sizzle.

I agree with Russell. This guy was vastly underrated but Clemmings looked really bad at the senior bowl. There were time he didn't even lay a hand on rushers.

When our 3rd pick came up, just looking at what was still on the board, I thought for sure we would trade down.

I'm not one that's freaking out about the RB situation, but we didn't bring all those guys in not to take them.

I thought we'd find a team in the upper 4th round, pick up an extra 5th rounder and take one of Langford, Allen, M Davis, or Ajayi.
If not a RB, still better value with a high 4th and extra 5th
Seemed like the perfect time to trade down. Maybe they tried and couldn't get it done.

Flowers was overrated from the beginning. 4-3 DE's who are slow off of the snap don't have a ton of value. Russell in the 5th was better value for a similar SDE type player.

Yea Clemmings has showed to be inconsistent but when hes on hes on. Its why he was looked at as possibly the 1st O lineman off the board at one time. I think he was worth a 3rd but i still have faith in Green. He just need to get back in shape. But im excited about Russell. Dude already looks like hes been in the league a few years with how he is built.
