If there is one coach who MUST GO, it is the special teams coach. Awful.

This punter who we signed off the street, can he at least have ONE punt with a 3 second hang time? Is that asking much? His punts are both short and line drives. Every single time........

What we need is a kicker who can kick the ball near the goal line.

Our kicker may be money but someone has to kick off better than what we are doing now even if it means a roster spot.

I am tried of seeing a ball die at the 10 yard line after no hang time and a guy get a full running start and hit a seem at the 25 before we even touch the wedge.

True. Folk was short all night on those kicks. It was rather windy though.

They should sign a kickoff specialist asap...someone who can boom the ball consistently into the endzone. It's worth the wasted roster spot, without question.

You have a very good point. I still think the STs players are just not good enough athletes. And this may be a real area where Parcells is missed. Say what you want but he is a STs guy. This must be addressed. It may take a coaching philosophy change.

Maybe. I wish they'd bring in someone to teach him how to KO better. But it's not unheard of for teams to have a KO specialist.

Remember Steve Hoffman? I wonder if he could help Folk with his kickoffs. BP should've kept Hoffman.

Our kick returners are clueless when it comes to using the wedge. They give the wedge about 1 second to develope and then they totally abandon it and start running sideways. When Cartwright had that good return at the end of the 2nd half, he stayed behind the wedge as long as possible and then busted through the opening it created.

Pat Watkins is actually a good special teamer, minus tonight of course. He's just a garbage safety, back up or not. Barbie's a joke in every facet of the word, Ball is decent CB depth. Courtney Brown isn't worth talking about in both regards other than sending him packing.

Patrick Crayton is atrocious at returning punts. He's probably the worst in the league at it. Very slow and is just trying to avoid being hit as opposed to running forward and trying to make someone miss while going forward. Give Austin the punt return duties and I can't wait for Felix back on kick offs, not that Austin has been bad. Heck, Austin should be our 3rd WR. Crayton is becoming dowright useless.

your gripes about Crayton are right on the money. I used to be a huge crayton fan...but he has been a huge let down this season. Worthless as a #2 and worthless in the slot where he used to be money. I would much rather seen Austin as the #3 guy...at least he makes damn plays.

so whats that make Adam Jones? Crayton has 2 less return yds than Jones on NINE less returns. Avg: Crayton 11.1, Jones 5.0

Very slow and is just trying to avoid being hit as opposed to running forward and trying to make someone miss while going forward.

again, he's been an improvement over what was there

We signed the best guy we could find on short notice. And frankly its doubtfull we will do any better.
As regards a kickoff specialist that means we have to cut someone else and this guy would have to be active so that means someone we have active now would have to go. You have to weigh what you gain by what you lose.

It is more about desire than being a good athlete. Dallas has good athletes running down on kick off coverage, but I don't see the desire in some of them. It only takes one or two guys not doing their job to open up a big hole. Jenkins and the very outside guy on the left side of the coverage team were the ones that allowed Cartwright the big return. The last guy on the left, I didn't see his number never pinched in as he approached the ball carrier. Jenkins back up instead of attacking the wedge.

No we don't. We need a complete overhaul.

I can't even watch our Kickoff Returns because I know we're going to be spotted somewhere between the 15 and 25 yard lines. It's all we set up to do. That's where the wedge meets the pursuit every time. I think we should be at the 30 to meet them and give the KR a running start.

Tackling is a joke on STs.

Honestly, the only guy who is really consistent is the freaking kicker. Our punter used to be but our pitiful blockers caused him to give up walking without crutches for a while.

Having two guys playing ST that are all about avoiding any contact doesn't help, and that doesn't even include the kicker!.
