We Will Beat The Giants

If we can get Eli to make some of the stupid throws he makes against everyone else we can win this game. If it is an even turnover game I think the Giants will shoot themselves in the foot less often than we will (penalty wise) and that could be the difference in the game. We tried to shoot ourselves in the foot many times the first game but Romo overcame it with like a 120 yard drive but that is just too much to ask!

I think the Cowboys will beat New York next week. here's why. Taking an opponent for granted. This has been something that has consistently happened with the Cowboys. They play an inferior opponent and play down to the competition. Then they go up against a team that at the very least matches their talent if not surpasses it and they play much better. You saw it in the first week when we beat the Giants. You saw it last week when we really should've beat Baltimore, and I believe we will see it again when we face New York again.

There's also gonna be a motivation factor in this football game. The Giants have yet to lose at Cowboys Stadium since it was built in 2009. They're a perfect 3-0. I'm sure everyone remembers Eli Manning drawing on the walls in the stadium after the Giants won the very first game played at the new stadium. Last season the Cowboys had a two score lead with about five minutes left and inexplicably lost the game. That game was the main reason they missed the playoffs. I don't think the Cowboys wanna let that happen again.

I believe there's gonna be a sense of urgency because they are at home and they haven't exactly been a dominate home team. Also let's not forget the schedule gets even tougher from here on out. After next week's game against the Giants the Cowboys will face teams like Atlanta, Philadelphia twice, Washington twice, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans. All formidable teams and all potential losses. They can ill afford to drop to 3-4. You could even argue it's a must win game.

One thing that will really help is the Cowboys will most likely be getting DeMarco Murray who has played very well in the first meeting against the Giants. If the offensive line can play like they did the last couple of weeks which I believe they will I think we win this football game. Just give Romo some time and he'll shred the Giants secondary. Hell the offensive line was having issues in the first game and Tony still torched New York.

Defensively obviously Lee getting hurt is a concern, but according to him it's not too serious so he should return. We just need to generate some pressure on Eli like we did on him in the first meeting and like we did with Cam Newton today. We finally got an interception. Morris Claibourne got the first of his rookie campaign. Hopefully there is more to come. Eli while a great player has been prone to knuckleheaded mistakes and if we get pressure we should generate some turnovers.

I predict a 24-21 Cowboys victory. :starspin
You and SDCowboy85 are to the Cowboys what Lou Holtz is to Notre Dame. Enternal optimist, but also slow to concede to reality.

However, I'm afraid you are wrong here. Eli will kill us....again.

This game is why we have the corners that we do. Losing church was a big blow to this team though. He was playing great in both pass coverage and against the run. Danny Mccray is average at best. Who knows what we have in johnson, but i'm afraid we will not see him until next year.

If our offense was playing like it did last year, i would give us the edge. But they have been completely out of sync all year, except for 2 games. We need to get better at scoring touchdowns instead of kicking field goals. You cannot beat the giants by kicking field goals.

It will be a close game. THe only way we pull it out is if romo plays very well.

I meant how that the lines are set and how they move, not that you don't know how to place a bet.

You claimed that the "smart" bettors -- the ones who you say want to bet on the Giants -- would wait until the line moves toward the Giants and then bet on them when they are favored by 1.5 or 2 points. They'd have to be complete morons to do that. If they're going to bet on the Giants, they want to GET points, not GIVE points. They're going to jump on the Giants at plus-2, not wait until it's the Giants minus-2 and then bet on them.

Losing Church I think might end up being the difference between this defense being a good unit, and a great unit. He was really playing well, and that was before we had Rat back in the lineup. A little extra pressure, and a little better coverage and we'd really be in business right now.

God forbid we get the pass blocking fixed and get to play with a decent lead every now and then. I can't even remember what that looks like, I don't think.

I was mistaken in saying that the smart betters will wait for the Giants to be favored by 1 or 2 points. Obviously, the smart betters already made their play on the Giants between +1 and +2.

Being that home teams generally get 3 points spotted, the general perception is that New York will win.

You could also argue that public perception is that the Giants are a better football team than the Cowboys right now, but it's a PK game? i expect it to be a pretty close game either way.

Giants 27
Cowboys 17

But I had the Giants winning a close one in the opener, so maybe this is good mojo.

Nicks has played the last two games so I'd imagine that he'd be out there on Sunday.

We can man up on Nicks. Claiborne or Jenkins can handle him. Cruz is the gamebreaker. I don't want to see him doing any stupid dances this weekend. Playing that safety back makes me pray our front four have a good game.

We don't have a player on our roster who can "handle" Nicks one on one. He'll need pressure up front and safety help over the top. Otherwise it's pitch and catch all day against anyone.

Really? Nicks was essentially a non factor in Week 1.

There's a reason for that. Claibiourne or Carr can handle him. He's a terrific player, but he's no Calvin or Andre Johnson.

Yes, we do. This isn't the Nicks you remember. Hixon is more of a threat at this point.

We never shut down Nicks in any game with one on one coverage.

He can routinely beat any cornerback in football with a comfortable Eli Manning throwing him the football.

If he's not healthy that could be true. Otherwise, that's one of the most nonsensical comments you'll ever read on this board. He's their best WR. He'd walk into Valley Ranch as the best WR.

Nicks wasn't anywhere near 100% in week one. I am not sure if he is healed now, but he is more healthy for this game than he has been.

Shh. We dominated him at full strength with one on one coverage. Carr, Claiborne, Jenkins, Scandrick. It didn't matter.

Like i said, this isn't your father's Nicks. He's banged up, beat, and down. Out of Nicks, Cruz, and Hixon, Nicks is at the bottom in my opinion. Look at his stats this season, and tell me who he has been beating? Claiborne, Jenkins, or Carr should be able to shut him down.

Okay, you can think he is awesome. He had a little over 50 yards against the banged up Commanders secondary this past week. I'm really not worried about him. I would rather our secondary worry about Cruz more.

if i had a dollar for every one of these "we'll beat so and so " threads i'd be, well, more comfortably retired.
