Yes, this dour assessment on the day after the renewal of mankind and we, standing at the cusp of spring, can only shake our heads and wonder what is happening (or not happening) as Jerra slipps deeper into . . . old age and a greater need to leave a legacy.

What will the legacy be?

Well, mens, these next several years will be unhappy ones.
Our team, essentially, next season will be the same.
No new changes in QB/RB/O line and receiver.

Our QB, who will no doubt again be running fer his life, will have a readily-built and legit excuse for pushing the balll where it should not go. Romo Will have the luxury of saying he had no running game because of the O line and will thow the ball downfield, al la Sid Gilman.
Too many interceptions by Romo? Who cares? he has his money?
Too many bad thows by Romo? Who cares, he is running for his life remember?

so the running game is forgotten this year because jerra made a huge investment in his QB and he wants his money's worth. Dez will be the go-to man. And Witten, perhaps on his way to a descent after being atop of the hill for so long, will get his share. After all, Romo is is friend.

Our draft? Jerra will play "football guy" and fool the prognosticators. He'll either trade up or down. He wont get a safety. He won't get a RB. He won't get that defensive lineman we need.

he will get some "big-name" guy, a tremendous athlete who Jerra will try to shoehorn into the team.

The secondary will remain porous.
Our fans will continue to sit on their hands on Sundays in the stadium and we will continue to gnash our collective teeths.

In the end? Another 8-8 season. Because that is the mediocre team we half become. Because of our cap, will will have barely enough money to sign backups from other teams to back up our mediocre players here.

That is a recipe for disaster. Because 8-8 teams will git you mediocre draft picks. Nothing special.

Jerra, in his world, is doing all he can. And he is proactive and that is good. But he is essstential like me and you. A fan basically who is playing building blocks with the dynamics of America's Team.

He tries hard. He willl fail.

For the next three years, expect no return to greatness. Only second-guessing giving Romo all the money for 8-8 seasons he'll turn in.

Get ready for the beginning of our nucular seveal seasons. the Skins and giants and even Eagles will vent their frustrations on us.
And all we will be able to do is wince and dream of our teams storied past.

Damn I know I have been away for a while but I did not realize I slept the entire off season and missed June cuts, the Draft and the trading period.

I read every word, and found nothing but premature, reactionary, unsubstantiated nonsense.

Am I the only one getting tired of long essays about what WILL happen an this team is over? If you really thought all that would you waiste your time watching? Every offseason it's the same. People predict the worst possible outcome then if it happens they are so happy about it because they were right. That just isn't what I discribe being a fan as...

LOL, this thing has finally reached a point of getting legitimately interesting, and now everyone wants to bail.

3-4 of the right players is all this thing needs to compete big time. Greatness is not required in the NFL anymore, but you can't win with traffic cones for offensive linemen.

there are other teams you might enjoy. i think while you are trying to be fair and stating your opinion, which is fair. I would like to point out the offseason is not over with yet, and if the changes on D help in any way than it was worth doing.

For the nervous nellies of this place, please, save this post and get back to me at the end of the season. I would love for you to say "You were so wrong."

This is what I think will happen to a static, 8-8 team -- not a prediction based on nothing.

I would love nothing more than to be wrong. So save the post and get back to me.
And I do think it strange that so many post just to say it stinks when just abstaining would be nice. But no, some want to vent past slights.

Again, never, ever be afraid to predict. But do be afraid to fall into the "Jerra says life is beautiful" trap, because you will be disappointed.

The thing is: There are no other teams I might enjoy. I half staked my entire life's devotion to the Cowboys. From the Glory days of Roger to the not-so-great days of "No, Danny, No Danny No" to the Jimma Days of gold and now to Oh, No Romo days.

You felt the need to make these claims on a message board and now you find it strange that some disagree with your assesment? :laugh2:

You spend all this time with this long winded speech based on your own views and fears. If it make you sleep better at night :laugh2:

im just suggesting it because you dont seem happy here. I think do you really long for the low days of being a Bills fan, or Raiders, or Eagles, or Tampa Bay?

show me a happy fan coming off an 8-8 season and the next season looking like the past and I will show you the fan Jerra wants: unquestioning and ready to spend $300 on an outing to Cowboys stadium to see the same mediocre product. Or a fan who is happy to see us as run of the mill.

Are you happy with last year? If so, maybe YOU are of the Bills and Raiders ilk.

We don't know if Dallas will be 8-8, they have yet to play the season. Just like when Dallas went 13-3 there was no guarantee they would equal that record the following season. There is no way to know what the Cowboys will do in 2013. However for some they have us losing the next 2 to 3 years? so why bother watching if you are so certain this is the way things will go.

Maybe that is why you get the reaction you seem to crave by predicting losing season for the next 2 or 3 years then the so called nuclear winter you have pretty much asked for this reaction. You get it and now you act surprised? :laugh2:

You guys are too funny
