The Cowboys might be ready to see veteran Brian Waters start his first game Sunday. The 13-year pro took first-team reps early in Wednesday’s practice ahead of Mackenzy Bernadeau, who has started the first three games at right guard.

However, Waters starting doesn’t exactly rule out the platoon system the Cowboys have used with Waters and Bernadeau at right guard. Waters has rotated in from the backup spot each of the last two games.

Last week, Bernadeau even flipped to left guard when Ron Leary left the game momentarily with an injury, but later returned to action. Leary was on the field Wednesday.

Good to see Sims getting healthy, he could help with some of our middle of the field coverage issues IMO. Miles should stick to short/intermediate possession routes so that we can get ,more than a handful of games out of him this season.

If miles is gonna be gimping around Sunday I'd rather he just be inactive and we roll in the slot w Harris and the Beas

If Austin is out then I fully expect that Williams along with Dez will man the outside and Harris and Beasly will work in the slot.

Well, its not like there are a ton of other options. If Miles is going to be a gimp, it might be time to bring back Armstrong and cut Arkin.

This. Time to start getting used to the Dez, Williams and Harris combo.

Based on reports the injury is not bad so I don't think they are looking at him missing any time but if it did Tim Benford is on the practice squade so I would think he would be brought up before they went outside

Maybe, not ready to push the button on Austin just yet. I think the natural reaction is major concern when people talk about hamstring with Miles however we will have to see if this is a mild injury or something more serious.

I personally don't think there should be much drop off with miles out. Harris is good in the slot. It really comes down to tony IMO. Tom Brady does it with no name receivers. Romo has a better group and I think he will get the job done

I also would think about putting Hannah in the slot along with harris on some passing plays if Austin cannot go.

It's time for Williams to grow up. If Austin is out, Dez will see triple teams, and they will take their chances on Williams and Harris.

If they had played any good teams yet they would be in trouble.

Maybe. But my point is Brady has been successful for years no matter who is catching the ball. He makes receivers look better. And we should be able to plug Harris in the slot and be just fine

I thought there was some report 3-4 days ago that Waters wasn't gonna be playing in the Chargers game. Now he's gonna be starting?
