Well obviously the Browns weren't blaming that on his regression or they wouldn't have dumped him. There had to be more to it than that to give up on him after only 2 seasons. Aikman's first year was rough because he was playing for what many consider one of the top 10 worst teams ever and his second season was rough because the team still wasn't very good. Even during those seasons you could see the potential Aikman had which is why the Cowboys traded Steve Walsh and not him. Weeden showed no growth or potential in Cleveland which is why he was cut loose. No point in arguing it any further let's wait until Sunday and see how he performs then we'll have a better idea where the teams future the next 7 or so games stands with him.

Well Obviously the browns are piss poor team managed poorly so what they think I really could care less. Yeah they are great they managed to run off every QB they have. As for Troy yes he was on a poor team so was Weeden. Weeden showed no growth 2 years 2 different system, you will not grow in that situation. As I said I will go by what he does in Dallas under Linehan not some idiot team who is poorly coached and ran.

You keep talking Cleveland? as if they were some great team that Weeden destroyed when reality is they are their worst enemy and have done none of these QB any favor other than releasing them to give them some type of chance to get with a real team,

I agree, I don't think it is about how many big plays you hit it is avoiding the big mistakes. He needs to stay patient and not go out trying to make big things happen. Let the players around you do their jobs and take what the defense is giving.

We don't want to put Weeden in a position where he can lose games. Forcing him to have to win games can result in him losing games so the team has to step up around him.

I agree, if the play is not there dump it off to a RB, throw it away heck take a sack but do not force passes. I will gladly punt and let the defense get out there to get the ball back. I will also say if the defense want to crowd the line and take away the run leaving wideouts and TE in one on one I expect Weeden to attack that area. I want Weeden to play smart but I don't want him playing scared.

I saw the same thing. He look salvageable but we need him to check down and throw the ball away rather than for balls into coverage.

Yeah. I have no interest in him failing to be right or wrong about something.
No agenda here. Get us 4-5 wins in 8 games... 4 is not a lot to ask for :)

The Browns are clearly managed poorly but when they give up on a player none of those players have ever gone on to perform well for anyone else at least not any I can think of. Everyone questioned them trading Trent Richardson but we found out why they got rid of him. Every QB they've gotten rid of has flopped everywhere else maybe they ruin QB's who knows. No team in the league has had a tougher time finding a franchise QB than the Browns.

He's going to have to be aggressive at times you can't win games against good teams that are being led by prolific QB's trying to protect a QB from screwing things up. You just hope we can get some early leads and not fall behind by 2 scores because that's when the floor can cave in with Weeden.

I agree, he can't play with fear and hesitation. You want him to play smart and take what is there. If your primary is covered then look to the dump off and if that is not there throw it away. I just do not want him forcing passes.

Some QB's are much better entering games in relief than as starters and Weeden is one of those QB's. We've seen QB's over the years enter games in relief and light it up but when they get starting opportunities they suck. Last season vs Washington after Romo went down Weeden came in and played great completing 4 of 6 passes with a TD and finished the game with a 145.1 passer rating. He played so well that most here wished the Cowboys would have left him the rest of the game. He looked so good that many felt confident with him starting vs AZ the following week. He ended up looking so bad against AZ a majority of the board wanted to go with Dustin Vaughan as the backup.

Fast forward to yesterdays game Romo goes down in the 3rd quarter and Weeden who was sitting on the bench wearing a ball cap enters the game without even attempting a warm up throw and began slinging it like Dan Marino. Weeden finished the game 7-7 with a TD and a passer rating of 149.7. His numbers in relief with the Cowboys have been outstanding. Maybe the Cowboys should have him do his usual backup routine this week then call up Showers and have him take the opening snap on Sunday then have Weeden enter in relief. LOL

Then make it the Weeden Tradition lmao
