I guess Matt Cassel gets no credit.

Typical.

I never said he gets no credit, but you coming in trying to make it all about Cassel is stupid. You did this same crap when it came to Weeden just two weeks ago, now you're onto Cassel.

Cassel had a ton taken off his shoulders due to a great running game. That doesn't mean he has never had a good game without a decent running attack, but this isn't a guy who is going to consistently perform well and put a team on his shoulders. The running game needs to get going and he will need Dez Bryant.

There's a reason Cassel didn't make it as a starter.

I never made it all about Cassel. I never said he can carry a team. You're putting words in my mouth. All I ever said was he's a guy who has had success as a starting quarterback unlike Weeden and also unlike him he doesn't play the position with fear. He is capable of going out there and making key throws and running an NFL offense.

You tried downplaying the talent of the 2010 Chiefs to prop Cassel up. It simply wasn't the case, he was on a solid team and had a great offensive scheme that year; similar to ours last year.

I hardly count 1 carry a game as being fair about playing time.

McFadden has had his shot. He's not even doing what he was touted to do best, which was pass protect.

Sadly Stephen Jones said he will still get a chance lol.

They were not as good as the Cowboys were last season if that's what you're trying to say. He had a solid number one that's great and a running game fantastic, but they weren't nearly as diverse as us. Guys like Jason Witten, Cole Beasley, and Terrance when playing opposite Dez has been very productive. Not to mention a dominant line.

Why can't he be worse? He can easily be worse. Different is not necessarily better. The guy's a career journeyman whose stats have declined steadily from their peak over the last several seasons. You may see some more completions downfield, but if they're offset by more picks, it's not going to matter. Sure, it gives the illusion of progress, but it's really just motion and not progress.

That said, we do have to look seriously at whether or not we think Cassel might be an actual upgrade. Just because I'm saying he's not necessarily an upgrade, it doesn't mean he's not, in fact, an upgrade.

I've been watching football for 35 years. I think you have also. In all those years, Weeden is near the top of the list for the worst I've ever see where a professional uniform. Especially that of the Dallas Cowboys.

You weren't saying that last year

Most of the people here weren't.

This is what happens when the team starts losing, the agendas are pulled out.

Everyone throws around the name "Jerruh".
Garrett sucks, let's talk Parcells and Jimmy Johnson out of retirement
Romo sucks
This player, that player, all of our players are overrated

It's never ending.

Really? Wow. As backups go, I've seen much worse than Weeden in Dallas. And many more league-wide.

We already know what we have with Weeden, who hasn't won a game as a starter in his career. We don't know what we have in Cassell. If he manages to be worse, we will still have the same result that we will doing what we're doing, which is an L.

If we insert La'el Collins and Christine Martin in the starting lineup, I can see the running game get going.

When people say this, I just assume they don't watch football around the league, only the Cowboys...and have a very short memory.

haven't Dallas fans seen enough of Weeden for a lifetime?

it's hard to believe he gets paid to play in the NFL.
