it's too early to talk about this but i gotta know. why are so many cowboys fans predicting we lose this game? i just went to a steelers board and not 1 person thought the steelers will beat the cowboys. on here it seems like pittsburgh is this unbeatable force or something. they were also already talking about how witten is gonna be a problem for them since heap always has good games against them. they also said how we have other weapons unlike the ravens with heap and willis. so why is everybody doubting us against the steelers?

Probably because they haven't watched the steelers in a few years.

Because I can't look at a schedule and predict anything better than 13-3. If we were coming off a SB appearence, I may have us at 14-2. I think barring injury, we have a chance at being better than every team on our schedule, but I think we'll split with Philly and NY and lose at Pitt, just because we're not perfect.

Take a look at the Steelers home record last year. They lost once at home in the regular season. Yeah they lost in the playoffs, but they play tough and physical. Its never easy to play here, and its a great home crowd.

That game is week 14. No way to know what is going to happen. Witten could not even play, Roethlisberger could be down. Who knows?

I agree it seems like the prognosticators are predicting a loss for our boys...

I will say this, I am going to try and make the game too, and if you have been to Heinz it is a tough place to play.

Could be snowy, rainy, nasty, and no matter what it will be WINDY off of the three rivers there in downtown Pittsburgh. Hard place to kick that is for sure......

If everyone is healthy on both teams it should be a WAR!!!!

Actually I don't think the Steelers are that good. They lost to the Jets -- the Jets of all teams -- who we beat on Thanksgiving Day. Don't believe Jets even got a TD. Game was over in the first quarter & it showed. Loved the Cowboy win but man it was boring cause Jets offense was awful. game for the Jets & Cowboys knew it early on.

My only concern is that we playing them in the 14th week of the season -- the dreaded December. I'm already praying that this year we finally put that whole December/playoff slump to rest & win at the very least a playoff game. Better yet we win the whole blooming enchilada.

The Stealers are an 8-8 team next year. They play a pretty tough schedule. Aside from them playing at home I don't fear playing them. I'm more concerned about their field condition.

If anything-the Steelers are in transition(which is probably why Cowher bolted last year).

Thomlin is a very good coach-but nonetheless, Bettis retired, their OL is getting old(their center for many years retired last year, and Fanica left recently), ditto with their "Steel Curtain" D as it's really not is once was, etc, etc.

If anything-Thomlin will likely open up another window in the long run(which is why the Rooneys went after 35 year old youngster). However, for now, they are in somewhat of a rebuilding mode.

It'll be interesting through what D schemes Thomlin will use this year. Last year-he went ahead and let LeBeau used his attacking 3-4 one. With them being in transition, he'll likely start to switch to a Cover 2(like the one he learned from his former boss Tony Dungy).

Yeah, it looks like he's starting to get players to fit the 4-3 Cover 2 system. Besides that the Steelers O-Line is just plain bad and they let Faneca walk and I don't think there Defense is all that tough anymore.

They're tough at home. We suck in Dec. They hate us about as much as our divisonal rivals. Possible bad weather and if the field is anything like it was in that one game last year it will slow out O down.

I still say we win though. Just giving some reasons why some might think we lose that one. It's very possible but I think we'll win.

Still-why is everyone underestimating the Steelers this year?

Do we hate'em? Heck yeah-however, they HAVE been a consistent contender year in and year out. They've been at their best not only in the draft, but also in NOT overpaying their players as well.

Sure-their OL et al sucked wind last year-but as stated above, they draft well, so they could very well have some young OL learning the system in previous years and now finally being ready to start. And for that matter too-their secondary from the Cowher years actually played pretty well under Thomlin's Cover 2 schemes(Palumalu, in particular).

So who knows how good/bad this team will do next year.

As for us-I feel good about our '08 chances, but I'm not holding my breath until we start winning games in Dec.

Everything you said is true. I think Rampage started the thread becasue he saw where a lot of Cowboy fans have us losing that game. Which is quite possible. They would be a tough game no matter what time of the year it is. Being in Dec and how we play in Dec it is very possible we will lose. I'm not underestimating the Steelers. I just have confindence in the Cowboys are a better team and will win that game. Again, it's a Dec game so you never know.
