Quick.....when was the last time the Dallas Cowboys absolutely put a major BEATDOWN on a high quality opponent?

I think you have to go all the way back to the 1996 playoff game against the Vikes.

This was some ***** SWEET! IT'S ABOUT TIME DALLAS THROTTLED SOMEBODY!

Apparently, Parcells tested the team's manhood after the debacle in Oakland.

Now, was this the case of the Eagles drinking the Kool-Aid? We'll find out on a Monday Night in about a month from now.

Remember this about the difference between Philly and Oakland. The Raiders possess a strong power running game that was able to exploit the Cowboys biggest weakness - the inside linebackeers. Philly has nothing of the sort.

Do you think the Giants will be able to exploit Dallas' inside backers? I think they can to the point that they should be able to set up play-action passes better.

Things I particularly liked about this game:

- seeing the dejected looks on McNabb's and Owen's faces.

- Owens not even getting close to the end zone.

- Ogbogu absolutely pancaking Tre Thomas (we must protect this house)!

- Dallas' Rushing defense improving from 115 yards per game to 95.8 yards per game.

- TOP: Dallas 40:43 - Philly 19:17.

- great open field tackling by particularly Newman, Williams, and Henry.

- Dallas running effectively on the right side of the offensive line.

- Drew Bledsoe not getting sacked.

- DALLAS RECEIVERS PROVING MY POINT THAT RECEIVERS ARE NOT A PROBLEM THIS SEASON!!

- Cortez 4 for 4 on FG attempts.

- Kickoff coverage keeping Philly inside the 30 on all kickoffs.

- Coach Parcells gameplanning to win.

- Philly officially being in last place now in the NFC East (due to head-to-head tie-breaker with Dallas).

FINAL ANALYSIS: Dallas made strides today. How much? Nobody knows for sure. I do think that the Cowboys have proven that they are CAPABLE of knocking off any team in the NFL. However, due to the inconsistancy of teh Cowboys play, there are going to be some rough waters ahead of them.

Big difference between now and 2 years ago, huh? You know, when ol #17 was behind center?

Did you see the play when (I think) Newman sorta drug Owens out of bounds about the 15 or so. It looked to me as TO pushed Newman off and then stepped out of bounds, like he could have moved inside and gotten another 5 yards if not the whole thing. We did have other players in the area, so I dont think he would have scored. But I thought I saw TO give up on the play.

Either way, your right. On all your points. Its great to see the Boys 'Throttle' the eagirls. I did not expect anything like this. I could not allow myself to daydream about this, I knew no way it could happen. Man, am I glad I was wrong.

SWEET - GO BOYS......

Good points Manster, I would also add things to like about this game was seeing the d-line doing some stunting and also Zimmer bringing in some new blitz packages that we had not seen before. I am a zimmer basher so I'll eat my crow this week and give him big props. However his biggest accomplishment this week may have been turning the whole defensive unit into tackling machines after a horrid game just 2 weeks ago in SF and a so-so outing in Oak.
The Giants game with Barber will test our run defense a heck of a lot more than philly(anyone got an update on Dat for next week? :( ) but ther o-line does not pass protect as well as philly's so we should be able to bring more pressure on Eli. Seeing Ware's strength on the bull rush was really something and adds another weapon to his arsenal.
