what do you have to say for yourselves today?

We won so that is all that matters to me but damn we will win by the pass. Running 2/3 of the time will not get it done. On the last drive we threw every down and won the game.

Need to run to keep them honest but we will win or lose in the air.

Best part of this team though is that this year we are winning games when we play badly unlike the last couple of years when we would have lost today.

I am for what ever works, but you gotta admit if Barber hadn't fumbled they were likely going to run literally every play on that one drive and score.

It really looked like Garrett was saying, "alright, if y'all want the run game, here it is".

He could of mixed in some strategic play action passes on that drive and probably killed them with it. I thought at least one time WA had 9 guys in the box and Dallas still ran it down their throat.

I wonder how much differently that game unfolds if Barber doesn't fumble early.

I like running the ball but this teams biggest strength is spreading it out and letting Romo be Romo.

I saw two draw plays in the second half, we were down 3-0, I would not call that running the ball. I call it pathetic.

I'm starting to think that this team is addicted to the big play.If they don't get the big play they have a hard time maintaining a drive sometimes.

Love how people are ripping down the run even though we ran pretty effectively today.

I think I like the tempo of the game better when they throw it a little more. However, when considering the Barber fumble in retrospect you also have to remember that Washington left a few picks on the field as well.

Barber's fumble did change the game for sure. As did Folk's miss. He is off this year and that is worrisome.

He has been nothing short of terrible.

Is Folk this bad or is it the snap/hold exchange?

I hope its the latter.

I saw the team run effectively until MB fumbled. After that, Garrett's play calling became hit and miss. And the play calling did not mix in the run and pass. A couple of play action passes in the first half would have helped. Instead, Garrett seems intent to use the shotgun as the base run, especially in the second half.

I said it in a thread last week, running the football doesn't score points

Well what about passing it? That doesn't seem to work either. 14 points in two weeks? Running the ball establishes the pass and opens things up plus it wears down the defense. I'm not talking about shotgun draw runs..I'm talking about really running the football. Then pass, pass it 50x I could care less, but when you run... run it down their throat, don't play patsy with the Draw.. run it inside right between Leonard davis and Gurode, start there. JG is playing Patsy.

sometimes you play fir the 4th quarter, was that defense not tired? was that defense making miss tackles? the skins defense was breaking before our defense, time was an issue, thats what running does, but we run to set up the pass. mission accomplished.

Running the ball takes time off the clock.

Last week, we ran 14 times, and the Packers had the ball for 35:58.

Today we ran 33 times, and the Skins had the ball for 28:34.

Give the Skins the ball for another 7:24 and they win this game.

And it wasn't because the defense played better today. The Packers gained 4.2 yards per offensive play, and today the Skins gained 5.6.

We won this game because we played great defense, and we ran the ball.

Run-pass ratio is moot when you don't sustain drives. We were 3-11 (27%) on third downs today. We were 3-12 last week. Big plays happen when you are on the field long enough to dictate and exploit what the defense is giving you.

I agree to an extent.

You can score running the ball,it's just that you have to run the ball consistently to do that.I'm not so sure that this team can do that, they're just to inconsistent to put together 12 play drives that are run heavy.I think this team is going to have to live and die with the passing game and the big plays that come from the passing game. Now if Felix can show some breakaway ability that may change.

Agreed. Our problem today, as it was last week, was converting 3rd downs.
