Well, we landed the best center in the draft and picked up a decent third. Not great, but not the end of the world.

We don't know that. This guy was projected as a 3rd rounder. He may not be any better.

Give me a break. He was nearly universally graded as the best center. Most had him in the second.

We could have gotten this guy in the second. Why not trade down again? Barret Jones from alabama was still there. Wisconsin lineman never translate well into the nfl. Most are average. Bad pick, bad trade strategy. This trade will get worse tomorrow. Reminds me of the years we drafted shante carver, quicy jones, and julius jones. Bad, bad, bad. Jerry needs to give up th reigns.

Prisco had him at 24 in his latest mock.
I'm okay with it. Center was our biggest hole.

Jones is going to start on the PUP. TR will start day one.

Who wanted to come up to 31? Takes two to tango

Not sure this guy beats out Costa. Honestly.

Costa graded out as the 31st best center in 2011 and was hurt last year. It would take concious effort to not beat him out.

The only thing good is that Dallas picked an olineman but they reached big time. However, I don't see how anybody would be happy. Trading down for a third round pick and passing on two DTs is sad.

As if this exact argument has not been rehashed over and again. Frederick can play OG too. Costa is cheap. If anything I would guess Livings is gone.

He was a reach but I know, without a doubt, he's better than Costa. He could literally suffer a series of small strokes before training camp and win that starting job.

I think he'd be much better value in the 2nd, but I think with guys like Pugh and Long going early, the Cowboys didn't want to risk it.

In any case, at least he's a Day 1 starter.

Costa is cheap, but Frederick could sprain an ankle and suffer a mild heart attack in the third preseason game and still be better than Costa.

I dont like the pick, but Costa wouldnt make most teams in this league much less be a starter.

He was a reach, but I don't think he was a third rounder. He would have been an A second round pick I think.

We got a player who should be a good starter at a dire position. If we can follow it up with some home runs with our 2nd, 3rd and 3rd (especially if those picks can land us another OL and a DL), we'll be looking like a very solid draft.

This hasn't ruined the night like the abortion for trading up for Claiborne last year. Because after that move last year, there was no hope for a draft class that could salvage our problems. We could still walk out of tomorrow night with a largely overhauled OL or an important DL piece. Could find a starting safety there too if we're lucky.
