were correct with respect to Key.

I have to admit, yesterday I wouldn't even have thought this would happen.

It really caught me by surprise.

Interesting trend by cutting older players like Key, Campbell, and possibly LA, and bringing in younger guy(s).

I was expecting a slightly older team this year, not a younger team.

I'm sure they know what they are doing and I hope it includes NOT signing TO.

I'm suprised we cheaped out on Key.

Want nothing to do with TO - Nothing
JJ would sell his Star to the devil? Stay tuned.

I'm sure rest of NFL is surprised as well. Most probably thought we'd be getting better by adding older but proven vets, but we may be getting younger. But we are already younger then most realize. Who are vets on this team who can provide leadership? On defense, there's Ellis & maybe Aaron Glenn but Singleton ( if he comes back), Henry & Ferguson haven't shown to be leaders. On offense, there's Bledsoe & who else is there with Campbell gone except maybe Riveria. This team may be getting too young to win a SB.

I don't care about the whole "defending the star" nonsense. That being said, I wish we'd worry more about our O-line than about T.O. I'd rather have Key and a seriously revamped O-line. I'm not sure what the best to do that is, but without a serious upgrade to our blocking, having T.O. will make little difference, especially with the immobile Bledsoe.

Have to wonder what exactly Keyshawn was asking for behind the scenes.

I didn't think his numbers called for a raise, but I wouldn't have minded increasing his roster bonus this year.

I just wouldn't want to hand over an extension with a signing bonus attached.

Whatever key wanted, he isn't getting it in Dallas.

I've felt WR would be a first day priority in the draft all along, but now it's also a need in free agency.

I don't want Terrell Owens, and I'll never be a fan of his, but what are Jerry and Bill thinking?

'Trick Crayton isn't ready to start yet, IMO, and we can't trust a rookie, even if it turns out to be a first rounder.

Drama.

I was never really a big believer on TO coming here...

But the release of Key has changed my mind.

I think TO will be a Cowboy very soon.

I wouldn't put aside the Moulds talk.

We could reunite he and Bledsoe.

I don't think I care for that idea very much.

On the radio they were talking about Keys big plays were reduced from previous years, so I think they felt he is slowing down.

We already tried reuniting Bledsoe with another ex-Bill.

The Peerless Price signing was a colossal failure.

Moulds would bring more speed to the team, but we would then have a big need for more size at the position.

I had so hoped it wouldn't come to this.

I keep waiting for Jerry to be the first NFL owner to sell adverising in the endzones, and let some company "re-design" the midfield star to get their name on that spot, too.

Can't you just see it?

The Burger King south endzone, and the Office Depot north endzone. How about the "Cultured Cowboy" midfield emblem? (Cultured Cowboy is a maker of western wear...)

I think JJ and BP are learning when to let the vets go. Key definitely showed further signs of slowing down this past year and his productivity will likely decline further next year.

My guess is he was asking for a raise, and the FO decided they'd rather go in another direction.

It is a pity that the draft is so weak at WR.

Maybe we'll be going after Givens in FA?

I agree about the "defending the star" crap. Enough, Dallas has to think seriously.

I also agree the OL is still a huge issue, but I think the Cowboys are determined not to overspend on one area in free agency. Already Adams, Allen, Rivera, and now Kosier have big contracts. I'm thinking at least 1 high draft pick will be used to solidify the OL.

As for TO, I think he can make big plays from a quick slant, so I think that's one very big difference. Another is unlike Key, Owens draws true double coverage which removes another blitzer from the equation. Also unlike Key, TO can run a deep pattern in under ten minutes which would allow Bledsoe hold the ball less :) .

Maybe BP wanted to give Key a chance to see what he is worth- gambling that whatever offers he gets the Boys can easily match- and then Key has nothing to complain about. This might also be BP's way of helping Key.
