Were any receivers open?

Guys:

Anybody at the game that could tell whether receivers were open? Romo seemed to hesitate because no one came open. Is that an accurate statement?

Also, everytime he threw the ball the receiver was closely covered. Maybe our receivers just don't have the talent to beat good coverage.

thoughts?

Like i said, we dont have a number one wr. Roy Williams is a number 2 wr. Crayton is a number 3 wr. Yes wr's were to blame some last night too, but most of it on romo.

Ogletree is the only WR we have with quicks to seperate in tight quarters. Crayton has decent quicks but when he's lined up outside, he seems to struggle.

The Giants WRs have good quickness and it showed last night. Manningham seems to have unusual quickness like Terry Glenn.

Then why cut 38 tds? Ask Jerry that... oh wait I know the answer already.

"Romo friendly" offense.

Nice move Jerry. You just made your 69 million dollar QB a scapegoat for your bad decision. Getting exposed on national TV is good marketing Jerry.

Definately have to be a bit concearned with the lack of production from the WRs last night. Just not sure if it is on Romo or there inability to get open. I have a feeling it was a bit of both.

Laufenberg said repeatedly throughout the game that the giants DB's were running the routes for our wr.

The last time he said that, at philly to finish the season.

I kind of thought all along our passing game would struggle for a little while. I hope it gets better by the time we play atlanta.

Yup, TO is the reason we lost lastnight - if we only had him....

Oh wait, been there - didn't win anything - but only if he was still here, it would be different...

Get over it people - Dallas lost by 1 freaking point to a team many consider the class of the NFC - with all the following happening

1. - Romo played with his head in a very dark and smelly area....and we still should have won that game.

2. - The ball bounced the Giants way lastnight - heck, they had about 4-5 different plays where if it weren't for an ankle tackle - guys were either taking it to the house, or gaining 20+ yards.

3. - Refs called an alright game, but TONS of holding calls could have been called on the Giants. If just one or two of those get called - could have been the game - especially that last drive.

But saying the reason they lost is no TO in the game - wow...really wow.

Does this go back to our offense is too predictable? Does the defense know the routes we're going to run so they're not surprised or are our WRs just easy to cover?

NY's WRs weren't having problems getting open. Half the time they weren't even followed into the diff zones...the CBs would even peel off instead of going to them. So sad. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

It could be a number of things.

It could be our wr struggle to seperate.
It coulb be the qb missed open wr.
It could be the giants defense is very well coached and prepared.

Either way It will probably be something that pops up again, like in all the divisonal games so we are going to have to hope they are ok.

I personally think we will be fine, I think it is going to take some time to settle into this mentality that we dont need the big plays.

and as far as the giants wr go, It looked way to easy for them. I cant imagine a more simple route than a go in man to man with no safety help. Or wr having all kinds of time to get to the middle of the field with the defense sitting in soft zones. The qb had the time for the wr to get to the spots in the zone that are vulnerable and manning was fantastic.
