One of the first great horror masters that I grew up with...

I was never a huge fan of Freddy... But I thought "Scream" was brilliant.

"Last House on the Left" was first well known torture-porn-revenge films.

"The Hills Have Eyes" followed the "Texas Chainsaw" formula, but the differences Craven brought made it a top-notch horror film.

If you want to see a couple terrific Craven films that didn't get a lot of PR watch "Shocker" and "People Under the Stairs"... both are highly under-rated.

I didnt realize he was that old, but I guess when you consider Nightmare on Elm Street was made over 30 years ago it's not surprising. After Halloween, Nightmare was one of my favorite movies and I dont particularly like the horror genre.

Those are some great films listed there, and didn't realize he did "People Under the Stairs" so thanks for info, etc. Will have to check out Shocker.
