Bashing Romo

The bashing of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has to stop - it really does. Now since I am the voice of reason this is easier for me than some people but let me explain.

The biggest problem with Romo seems to be that after 2 and a half years as a starter he hasn't won a playoff game yet ... and as horrible as that may well be ... does anyone remember the name Troy Aikman?

'89 '90 and '91 ... Aikman didn't win a playoff game ... now the cowboys did in '91 ... but former coach Jimmy Johnson didn't think Aikman should start in those playoff games ... so Steve Beuerlein did .... lot of people thought then Beuerlein was better.

How'd that work out?

Here's a better one ... Peyton Manning joined the Colts in '98 ... and didn't win a playoff game until the 2003 season ... 5 years without a playoff win .. played 4 and lost all 4 and one of those years the Colts were 13 and 3.

Now how is it possible you can go 13 and 3 and lose your 1st playoff game? Good thing the cowboys don't have Peyton Manning playing quarterback on this team.

Or how about this one ... John Elway joins the Broncos in '83 ... they go 4 years before he gets his 1st playoff win in '87 .... and in '84...
THEY WERE 13 AND 3 BUT LOST IN THE 1ST ROUND ... OH NO !! SAY IT AIN'T SO!

The bashing of Romo has reached such ludicrous heights that a guy on ESPN said the other day ... Romo blew 2 leads in the baltimore game last year in the 4th quarter.

Cowboys never did lead in the 4th quarter of that game ... Romo led 'em to 2 touchdowns only to see the defense give up 2 long touchdown runs .... maybe the ESPN reporter thinks Romo should have made the tackle.

I want to see Romo and the Cowboys win a playoff game too ... makes my January a much better month ... and if they don't win a playoff game this year.

Let's see if Brett Favre will come back ... and add to that all time playoff interception record he has

Now they love Dale! LOL. :laugh2:
I don't. I never hated him though. I'm not a media critic except for Keyshawn, Tony Kornheiser, and Berman.

There was a JFE column a week ago that drew only 9 or 10 replies in the DZ, which is way below her normal numbers. Before clicking on the thread, I said to myself, "She must have complimented the team or a particular player in some way." Sure enough, it was an article bashing ESPN for ignoring the Roeth rape controversy yet seeing fit to poke around Tony's love life. For some, she's only "controversial" when she slates the team.

I'm not sure why at all it's surprising that people are more vocal when they disagree with someone and less vocal when they see something agreeable.

You mean people tend to compliment journalists who reinforce their prejudices, and pan those who do not? The hell you say. But let's drop the pretense that there's any kind of honest evaluation going on.

Jen, if you want more kudos, keep pushing the sunshine.

No crap huh.

It's like some big freaking phenomenon. The only problem is it happens on every sports forum in the world. People talk more when pissed off.

No big trick to figuring that out.

I live in Arizona and you think I don't know what the sun is?

This is my hobby, I am self employed which means I set my own hours, and I love to talk Cowboys. Big damned deal about the post count. Your prouder of it than I am. Means nothing to me.

Now excuse me I need to get the mail. Hey, what's that fireball in the sky?
