Uhhhh....Romo for one. Didn't see Carr act like that last year when he got his ankle broken for him. Mariotta, Jameson. There's a long list.

He was pissed off because he's the biggest wuss in football. He got tackled. Know why? It's friggin FOOTBALL.

At least for now it's still a contact sport. The way they explained it is once he leaves the pocket the two step rule is void and it was a perfectly legal hit. I can remember defenders leveling Romo while he was in the pocket after two or three steps and no one batted an eyelash.

This NFL season as a whole so far to me has been pretty disappointing.

I'm not losing any sleep over Rodgers injury. As he himself said just RELAX and that's what I'm going to do.

Says the Packer fan.

Aaron is a wuss. He got tackled cause it's football and got a boo-boo.
A big wuss huh?. A wuss you would gladly want on your team. Put a star on his helmet and you would start drooling like a teenage girl.

....:lmao2:....:lmao:.........I already have a three year old who cries everytime she falls down. Thanks tho.

And BTW........Romo broke his collar bone AND his back and tried to get back in the game. Both times. He didn't have a cart haul him off like the big wuss.

His collar bone was broke.......he couldn't walk like a man? A team leader? An NFL QB?

I'm gonna get his jersey............

I guess my stance is....I never really got pleasure out or watching anyone play but the Cowboys....
Ok...gotcha. Nor have I. I would watch other games whose outcome affected the Cowboys, but I don't even do that anymore. I haven't watched pre- or post-game shows in a long time, either. My NFL viewing begins and ends with Cowboys games.

This has really turned me off football. I don't celebrate touchdowns or big plays anymore, I immediately start looking for flags and waiting to see if the play is over-turned by instant replay. I still watch the Cowboys and my Longhorns, but that's it.

Yep I don’t either. Once a big play happens, I’ve been conditioned to worry rather than enjoy it.

Didn't watch a second of football all weekend. Loved it.

Will probably watch Dallas next week, but I'm done with the NFL as a whole and watching all the games all day like I used to. Can't stand the league.
Exactly this. Didn't miss it at all. Games are too boring now. Nothing but commercials and poor quality product dominated by the refs. Oh and politics ruin everything so there's that too.

The NFL is truly pathetic these days.

It's like a bunch of pick-up street games every weekend. Every team is running the Southlake Carroll offense. Gimmicky nonsense, relying on no-huddle, shotgun draws, quick screens, dink and dunk, and bombs. All framed in a storm of flags, constant replay, and childish mistakes.

Where are those beautiful 15-yard timing routes of 20 years ago? Where is the power running game? Why are teams constantly in the spread on 3rd and 1? Where is the mano-a-mano football? Where's the damn kickoff return?

It's been reduced to Football for Dummies. And it's ugly and boring to watch.

It is really strange how much offense has changed in just the last 5-10 years. Dink and dunk has overtaken the league but I think a lot of this has to do with lack of great QB play as well as a much less physical game. The dink and dunk used to be nonexistent because the guy over the middle could get knocked out. Now it's a staple because of the rules protecting him.

I read Romo talking about why Danny Amendola got cut in 2008 and he said they were a vertical offense still and didn't have any routes for him or a place in the system yet. Then a few years later, they adapted and got Beasley.

The league is constantly morphing and adapting. There are few great QBs in the world

Unfortunately I agree with you, and I hate admitting that. It may be sad, but "back in the day" I lived for Sunday and spent all day absorbing every bit I could get. Now I can't sit through 2 drives of these games.

I love this site, and I love the Boys, but even the Cowboy games are losing their luster for me and if I have even a reasonable activity offer I tape the game, log in here a few times to get a feel for what's happening, and enjoy my Sunday afternoons doing something which actually affects me. I still have my all-22 subscription, but even that is really starting to irk me watching games around the league.

I have started going to some local high school football games, which up here in NH certainly isn't anywhere near the level of TX, but it does look eerily similar to what I see on Sunday, at least from a scheme perspective. As a bonus the rules and the refs make the game flow a little more.
Try youth football on sunday's ! try coaching its great !

Right???! We took the free time to totally treasure hunt in the house...you know, go through stuff stashed away in storage for years and had forgotten we had. Totally redecorated and decluttered and found about $1000 in collectibles (You-Gi-Oh that my oldest was crazy about years ago) that I am posting on eBay. Wrapped it up with some USDA prime tri tip grilled over some mesquite...perfect weekend with no hand wringing and no stress. Wonderful!!! While I am certainly not "done" with the NFL...I could get used to this! :)

That is so awesome to hear!!! And I'm sure I'll watch here and there, but my diehard obsession with football and more specifically the NFL has severely eroded with the way the league is being ran.

I coached junior high for a number of years back in the day. Loved it. I still keep in touch with a lot of the kids.
Thats awesome my friend ! Coaching my son right now in pony...finished undefeated, playoffs start in two weeks...amazing what 7-8 year olds can do, we have about 18 plays, pulling guards, counters...amazing kids...people don't realize the impact you can have on the kids lives...possibly could be the best part of their day....I see them around town and at the Friday night games...they run up, hey coach ! I call plays in the huddle then step back and can't speak after we break....awesome to be right there on the field with them...

Cool! It's great to have a positive influence on kids. I really think boys need a non-father adult in their corner to encourage them (in addition to their father, not in place of).

Interestingly I coached only before my sons were born. A good friend has run the youth football program here forever, and when he asked if I would take on the 7th graders I did it for a while.

My middle boy played but the oldest was into martial arts only. Even though he never would, he can now snap limbs off people twice his size and you'd never know it looking at him, which is one reason I'd never pick a fight with someone I didn't know!

OMG that's funny ! My son loves the game and its really brought us very close, 5 days a week 2 hours a day since august will make one of two things happen lol ! Some of the kids have nothing outside of football, esp the guidance part you speak of...I treat them all like my own, from giving them rides and making sure someone asks them how there day was and telling them they better do good in school....My memory's like yours will last forever....its like boot camp, but they learn respect and accountability which is mostly lost in this new world...My favorite phrase is...Guys, practice doesn't make perfect....perfect practice make perfect ! :)
