Ohio State is going to be in the championship game after playing absolutely nobody all year. The best team they played got beat by App State. What a joke.

I believe in this screwed up mess,Georgia would give Ohio State a better game than LSU would. IMO,Georgia has quietly become the best team in the country right now.

I'm quietly celebrating.

The more messed up it is every year, the more are converted to the idea of a playoff.

But they didn't even make the conference championship game. How can you put them over LSU? Looks like being a chicken **** conference like the Big 10 or Pac 10 and not having a championship game was the way to go this year. You think Missouri would like to be sitting in front of the TV making the BCS championship game tonight?

Yeah cause they sure looked dominating against the only team that got punked by ND this year.

Since OSU will go to the NC, Illinois will be playing in the Rose Bowl.

Oh god.

There are no great teams in college football this season.
But I think EVERY college football fan been waiting for this to come up for the BCS. I know it came under fire in 2001 with Miami/FSU/Washington and USC/OU/LSU in 2003 and USC/OU/Auburn the next year. But this has the potential to be a much larger blow to the BCS than all those other controversies combined.

I think I Have a BCS Answer.

The Bowl games are money and thats not changing. An 8 - 16 team playoff is not really viable.

Have the top 4 teams play their Bowl games as a semifinal to play for the national championship a week later in the "Super Bowl"

Sure #5,6 etc will whine but it will be a nice compromise.

I hope they have 3-5 more years of this. I think the Bowl games are still the biggest joke in all of college sports. Funny how every college sport except Division I football has a playoff; heck even all the other levels of college football have a playoff system. Man if they had a playoff of the top 8 or 16 ranked teams using the BCS system to rank them talk about generating hype

Actually ND punked Duke as well. But that hardly counts.

The people who criticize the BCS are morons. There is no perfect system. No system is better than another. The tournament bracket system is flawed as well. It allows teams to take games off just to get into the tournament. I like the current college. No, I don't think it's fair but it is more fun to watch and that's what counts. Every game is a playoff game in the current college system. If a tournament system was allowed, then teams could give up games. In the current system, every game counts. Look at the NCAA Mens basketball regular season....no one watches it! It means nothing. With college football, every games means something.

I hear announcers saying USC is currently the best team in December. They lament the fact they won't play in the BCS. But USC should have beaten Stanford. What's their excuse for that. I want a team like USC to be penalized for losing to a team like Stanford. A tournament system would forgive USC for losing to Stanford. In the current system, every regular season game means something. And if the regular season matters, the season is more fun to watch.

Ohio State fans want to see LSU in that game. I don't care that it would be a home game for LSU they've shown all year home field doesn't matter for LSU. LSU could have lost 2 or 3 home games this year.

Georgia, USC, Kansas, Oklahoma all give Ohio State really good games or whips them.

Give LSU a month to heal and rest up and they probably kick OSU's butt pretty good.

No kidding.

For me it's the same thing. Until there is a playoff system and the champion is decided on the field of play, the whole notion of deciding a national champion by means of voting is worthless.
