What about a trade for Albert Haynesworth?

Yeah, yeah, I know, he's the guy who tried to slice & dice Andre Gurode's face w/his cleats a couple of years ago. Believe me, no one was more disgusted about it than I was. However, he apologized to Gurode, and lost a half season's worth of pay, so he paid for his crime.
Ever since, I can't remember hearing of him getting into any more scrapes.....no pun intended.

This guy is only 27 yrs. old, and was one of the best DTs in the NFL last year. He not only had 6 sacks, but was third on the team with 23 QB pressures. There's no replacement for getting pressure on the QB UP THE MIDDLE. At 6-6, 320, he would clog up the middle of the line, and take pressure off of our LBs so they can make plays. Unlike most NTs, he could stay in on 3rd & long to create havoc up the middle.

This move would allow the team to move DE Jay Ratliff to his natural position where he could also put more pressure on the QB. Tank Johnson would remain the backup to give Haynesworth breathers now & then.

NT is right up there with CB & WR as positions of need. No 3-4 defense can truly dominate without a dominating NT. This trade would give us that. Therefore, I would be willing to give up our 28th pick in the draft to get Haynesworth.

Feedback is welcome. Please just don't make a rude comment & walk away. That is cowardice. If you disagree, please use stats, facts, & logic. Thank you.

Irrespective of whether it is a good idea or a bad from a personnel and chemistry standpoint, is he on the block? If so, what is the cost? Is it realistic that we could afford it?

That is the first question in my mind that is a threshold question to discuss before we talk about whether a player is a good fit. I could make a compelling argument why we should trade for Adrian Peterson or Wes Welker, but that is a rather pointless discussion unless it is realistic that we can get that player.

It would be great to have him on our line, but no way can we afford him even if he was available. I thought TN franchised him, and after the deal Kris jenkins fat butt just got from the Jets and not to mention what Al Davis just paid for someone I have seriously never heard of who knows what he would cost.

No, no, no, no, no. As mentioned he'd cost 2 #1's at this point cause he was franchised.

2nd...did you see what that dude in Oakland got whose going to play DT? Albert is going to want, and get, more than that. Forget that.

1. It would cost us at least 1 of our number 1's.

2. His contract demands would be huge.

3. We have very little cap space as it is now.

4. We have a guy in Ratliff who played very well on the nose last year.

5. 6'6" is not typical nose-tackle heigth. He would have problems with levage facing two-blockers all the time.

6. This thread subject is dorky. :D

He's not worth 2 number 1's, despite being one of the best NTs in the game? So beastly that the Titans defense became average without him...

Well you just eliminated 95% of the board.

And on top of that, you want facts and logic....just where in the heck do you think you are?
