What about Ronde Barber as a coach?

Anthony McFarland was on Sirius NFL w/Rich Gannon and predicted Barber would either help Kiffin in Dallas or Tampa over the summer a bit but would not be a coach. McFarland seems to know Barber quite well.

That makes more sense. I could see something along the lines of consultant work during training camp, but I think Barber has plans to go into broadcasting. We've gone the consultant route before, with former Cowboys coming in and helping. During Parcell's stint, we even had some 90's Giants attending the camp to help out.

Who knows, anything is possible, though I don't see any Today Show in Ronde's future

Another poster has already mentioned that he would gravitate towards the Bucs if he wanted to coach, but if they could have him come on for a few days to talk to the dbs then they could only be better off for it.

Bucs currently play a 4-3 over (Jimmy's defense) and while I do not consider Ronde Barber a "great" player, he received the bulk of his "fame" playing in the Tampa 2 (Kiffin's 4-3 under).

If he was going to coach, it would make more sense for him to coach the system that he played in the longest and had most of his success, which was Kiffin's system.
