What about the defense?

In the midst of all the excitement about Romo, I think that the way the rest of the team played is being over looked just a bit.

What are the defensive stats for this game and this team in regards to the rest of the league?

If they're anything close to what I think they are, I'm going to have a hard time finding any reason not to believe that this team can make it to the, at the very least, NFC championship.

We beat the Colts last weak. You gotta credit some of that to the defense.

Not to mention they looked great today.

The way this team is coming together is everything I hoped for. This is the year, and we're a team on the rise!

Norm hitzges had a great stat tonight, the bucs ran 10 plays for 90 yards and a td their opening drive.

The rest of the game they run I think, 34 plays for 110 yards and a field goal.

That is dominant defense.

Dominant was what I was about to say. With the exception of the opening drive, the Bucs literally couldn't do anything against our D.

Which brings me back the point that makes me so giddy. We're dominant on both sides of the ball. And the good thing is, I foresee no end to this domination!

YEE HAW!

We are very good but I wouldn't call us dominant yet. If TB had a decent QB, they would have scored more points today. J. Galloway was open way too many times.

The good thing is I think we are only a FS and another good pass rusher away from being a dominant defense.

To be fair, the Buc offense is challenged right now. Other than Galloway and Cadillac they don't have much punch.

I feel that way too. Hopefully Watkins will develop into the FS we need and guys like Hatcher as well as a few more additions will shore up the pass rush in the next few years.

One thing that I was disappointed to see in the game was that Terrence Newman wasn't covering Galloway. If I were the defensive coordinator, I would have had him on Galloway all game.

Can someone give me a good reason for why they didn't do this?

that's just how we play, Newman lines up at LCB 90% of the time, the other 9% of the time is spent in the slot, and 1% on the right-side

our D is looking great now we gotta be consistent in not giving up big plays every single week, we've done it 2 straight weeks now we gotta continue with Eli and the Giants O next week n gotta make him continue his struggles. If we dont allow the big play then the Giants game will be under control for us because Eli is not accurate enough to beat us by just taking what the D gives him neither is he disciplined enough to do so. Gotta keep it up and so far im loving it!!!

Very true but you cannot say that about Indy. If the defense can hold the high powered Colts offense down you would expect the same results with a weaker team.

In the past the boys played to the level of their competition. It's good to see them shut a poor offense down like they should and not let them hang around only to challenge for the game in the end.

We are getting there!

That isn't always the case. He covered Moss exclusively the 1st deadskins game, by design.
