What are the chances the Cowboys play on Jan 16th?

Who thinks Dallas is likely to get the Saturday night playoff game?

There is a wedding I SHOULD go (work related) that I'm probably going to cop out of if it means missing the playoff game. I've waited as long as I can to RSVP. Thoughts?

I would assume you'd need to know if we win this Saturday and how that shakes out for when and where we play in the first round.

I'd prefer to wait, but I can't. I have to make the call today. Doesn't NBC have the option of choosing whatever NFC and AFC game it wants in the Wildcard round? If so, I would imagine a Cowboy primetime matchup would be very attractive.

Your post says the 16th, which is the 2nd round. NBC doesnt get any games that weekend. There will be a Saturday night game, but who plays in it is anyone's guess.

NBC WILL get a Saturday night game on Dec 9th (next weekend) and IMO, its very likely the Cowboys will be in that game. Its one of the reasons I think the league decided against flexing the Dallas-Philly game this Sunday, because they probably didnt want NBC to have the same game two telecasts in a row.

Thanks-not sure how I messed those dates up. The chances are a bit more obsolete for the 16th.

RSVP that you will attend and if they play on the 16th, get sick.

Yes, I've done that before. You can even blame it on your wife for taking too long.

Ditch the wedding... there's only a 50/50 chance the marriage is going to last anyways.

I think if we make the divisional round we play Sunday.

We are probably looking at a Sun wc game UNLESS we play Arizona or the Cardinals earn a bye .

Per the rotation the Nfl has held since 1990 regarding wc weekend, it is the NFC's turn to have a 1 pm est start on Sunday. That cannot be Arizona. Therefore it will most likely be us by default.

They could change the rotation, but why start now?

My weekend rotation starts on the 16th... ugh, but I only work Saturdays so I hope I can get through that month without missing a Boys game.

If I remember right. Cowboys rarely ever played a Saturday playoff game. They art a bigger draw on the Sunday late game.

Go to the wedding but take a radio with you to run into one of your ears. One ear on the wedding events and the other on the game. ;)

personally if you feel you should go, go. if dallas is playing, tape it and avoid all ways of hearing the score. weddings are expensive enough without people not showing and the couple paying for your plate...if the game is that important to you, rsvp that you aren't going instead of calling "sick".

Don't bail on an rsvp. It's expensive for the couple to have you there and an honor for them to invite you. Go to the wedding, wish the couple well and be a man. If you can't DVR the game, use this as the excuse to get that new recorder Santa so obviously screwed up on this season.

Good advice right here. Say you aren't going and still send a gift.
