if or when Turner is hired as the next HC, and setting aside the debate on whether or not he should be our next HC, what are the chances of him bringing Singletary with him for the DC position?
I'm asking this in part because i'm not clear about the policy of the league in such situations and what Singletary's current position is in SF. Also, i would like to get the board's opinion about (if it was possible) what kind of philosopical change that would bring to the defense. Switch from 3-4 back to 4-3? if so, have the Boys overhauled thier defense so much in the last 3 yrs that switching back would take a long adjustment period? Or Can Singletary learn the 3-4 quickly enough to make a difference in the first two years?
Let me say up front that i'm not advocating such a move, just that the writing seems to be on the wall that Turner is the next HC. If so, i doubt Wade Philips will settle for a DC position in Dallas and I don't know of other coaches with the 3-4 experience who can/will be willing to become our DC.
