I already posed this question in another thread, but I think it's a good enough question, one that I haven't heard posed yet, to merit it's own thread.

Let's say the Packers trade Favre to Tampa Bay to get him out of the division. Could Tampa Bay turn around and trade Favre to the Vikings, provided they were offering enough?

That would be some funny ****.

Edit: The guy who answered in the other thread probably has it right. A clause in the contract. On the other hand, Favre essentially has a no-trade clause in his current contract, he can veto any team the Pack wants to send him to. I really don't understand why it's such a big deal -- we're talking about two games and if the Pack don't think they can beat the Vikes with Favre, then why the **** are they so anxious to get rid of him in the first place?

Yes, they can, but it might impact their cap twice.

Green Bay cannot just add a clause("poison pill") to Favre's contract at this point. If something like that is already in Favre's contract then it can come into play, but I doubt it is already written into it.

It would have to be a stipulation of the trade itself. We see this all the time such as the Dallas-Tennessee trade to get Pacman or any other trade for a conditional pick.

I don't think Tampa or any other team would be charged twice against their cap if they did trade for Favre and turned around and traded him away. They would just be trading his base salary for this season. There are no bonus amounts that would be involved as far as I can see.

I "think" that the signing bonus would accelerate for GB, but in TB there would be no SB so it wouldn't even have a salary impact, but I'm sure this is not likely. It would ruin your reputation among GM's.
