What are the thoughts on resigning Leary, Mo, Church, T Crawford and T Will?

The club needs to find a way to sign Leary...he adds both depth and meanness. Crawford has a contract already. Mo must be replaced, at some point, he simply isn't reliable, due to endless injuries. Williams has been a good reciever that has caught many important passes for the club. He takes a lot of heat...but is still an asset. Sign him if possible.

Happy Victory Monday I was curious we got some decisions to make in the off season and no I'm not talking Romo has anyone heard rather it be on the Break Talking Cowboys 1310 the ticket or any other outlet what is the thoughts on resigning Leary, Mo, Church, T Crawford and T Will. I know we can't sign everyone but what is the word on these players Thanks in advance

At what point is Dak's contract re-written? He's going to deserve a contract better than a fourth rounder. I think Leary won't settle for a one year deal, and while he may be better than Collins now, Collins has a better upside. There's just so much money available, and Leary isn't worth breaking the bank.

I'd love to have Leary back. I'd at least trade numbers with his agents to see what's possible. TWill would be my next priority.

The gogan comparison is spot on
I do think one of Carr or Mo will be back
Church likely gets to return
Twill and Leary are gone
And we need to draft a "zeke" for the defense
A dominate guy who can elavate the D
If Jaylon Smith pans out, we have our Zeke of the the D. He can be dominant if he heals.

We need to continue to draft well. This current draft landed us some serious ammo for the future. But it needs to continue.

We have quite a few contracts expiring, and we can't keep them all. They'll need to be replaced via the draft and mid-level FA's. No super contracts.
I agree we really need to concentrate on signing Zack Martin, and then just see where the chips fall on the others, we cannot overpay with what we are paying to have the best offensive line the Nfl can remember and a backup QB making maximum dollars.

I feel we can replace twill with a 2nd or 3rd rounder in the draft... hes not that dynamic that we can't replace him

Mo I feel we should take a lee type contract with as if he has turned the corner we have a very good boundary corner
Just a note as someone who has already started his draft for 2017 this year's lack of talent depth is at QB,Oline, and WR. DE edge rushers, RB's, CB's, TE's, are plentiful. I am thinking we are defense with that first pick.
Twill is a different player this year, first to admit I was ready to write him off last year. He is a blocking demon on downfield plays. Not sure why he has not been more involved in the offense of late but he is playing hard.
Love to have Mo back but history tells us this guy has soft tissue injuries frequently so I am not that wild about that aspect of his talent.

There is nothing that says Collins can play OT in the NFL many scouts even said he is better swinging inside than being an OT. While he is a better athlete than doug free he is not as technique sound as Free and may not be as fast footed as free

So the lesser athlete has faster feet?

If Romo stays and is the backup, I would hope to be able to cut his salary by about $5M and use that money to sign Leary. If Romo is the backup and won't take a pay cut, then trade him and use the savings (if any) to sign Leary. If you can't trade Romo, then make him a June 1st cut and use the savings to sign Leary.

If none of that works and Leary can't be signed, try Loony at guard or find a guard in the draft. I am expecting Collins to move to RT. If not, just use Collins at guard.

The good news is the Cowboys have many options available. Good position to be in.

Your comments make sense.

My feeling is they keep Romo thru next year while we see if DAK can keep up his learning curve.

My concern is a sophomore slump. Once teams get enough tape on him..they will figure out how to defense him.

At that point..having Romo to switch off to is really primary.

We have to win now with all these young guys.

Maybe more nimble is the better term and better technique. But free does not have the strength and athleticsm of Collins. But Free is what 10 year vet. Guys with lesser talent have to rely on technique and high motor you know all the cliches for less athletic. Athletes like collins can "fake" it til they make it because their athletic ability allows for it, it can be a gift and curse. Athletes that can encompass all of it the technique plus athleticism become all pros.

Lots of fairy tales being told in this thread right now.

Be prepared to lose almost all of these guys, just like 2014.

They can't re-do Dak's deal until after 2018.....he will get some pay for play money that will almost double his salary......and the endorsements from being QB1 in Dallas will be huge....adidas will give him 100m alone

Tell you what, respectfully. Tony can not stay...it simply doesn't work that way. Tony is done in Dallas and will be a June 1st release.

He won't be cheap for long if we keep winning......which we will......but QBs always get paid one way or another.......the days of a 6yr/60m extension are long gone though
No way to get out of those Rookie contracts. Thankfully! He is the fans property for at least 4 years. BKight13...the club has finally found the main ingredient for a long playoff and SB run. Thank God almighty!

I would re-sign Mo and Church, depending on cost and who else is available. No reason to pay Williams, he is the 4th option in the passing game, Butler or some one else can fill that role. Would love to get some more speed out there, with Dez and Zeke the #2 WR should be making big plays in this offense from time to time.

Leary would be great but after what happened with Collins I doubt he is back. He is clearly the better player but Dallas started Collins because he is cheaper and more likely to be the future.
