Speaking of bets, I bet one of my friends $1,000 that the Cowboys will have a better record then Eagles. Tie breaker is higher seed in playoffs. What do you guys think of that

You will win the bet

My personal rule is to never take a bet when I can get better payout or better chances of winning elsewhere, no matter how "sure" I am I'll win.

However, there isn't exactly a Vegas line on "Romo goes to NFCCG before retiring" so there's nothing to compare it to.

I probably would have insisted on getting a slightly better payout than even money. At the very least 1.25-to-1, so you'd stand to collect $1,250.

Rogah is right about the odds, but it isn't exactly a common bet.

Dallas is 12/1 to win the Super Bowl and 13/2 to win the NFC Championship game.

I would imagine they would be around 3/1 to go to the NFCCG this year. Considering you potentially have several years to collect I would say it is a fair bet but not a sure thing by any means.

Do you collect every year he goes or just once?

Just once.

I think you made a smart bet. This is multi-year. Odds go out the window on this. Romo and this team's direction can definitely put this team in a place over the next 2-3 years for you to win this sucker. Multi-year bet... you place this with a 15 year old?
I think this guy you placed the bet with (considering the multi-year rules) is a straight sucker and I would victimize this guy as often as I can until he gets wise.

I don't blame you for placing this at all and I wish I could throw in and get to know this guy on a personal level. I'd break him in less than three months. I'd ruin his life and get him hooked on serious drugs to escape the miserable existence he put himself into by dealing with the Corso,

Does he have a brother, maybe it runs in the family.

I'm telling you. I want to run into some rubes like this. Make me a multi-year bet based on nothing, but an emotional argument for X amount of money? How much you worth brother?! I'm all in!
I live for moments like that. It's the only reason I miss living in West Hollywood- the stupid ash idiots who were dying to make a moment of themselves in front of people and there I was... smirk on my face.
What's your pleasure?

After the Super Bowl, my friend bet me that Romo would never take the Cowboys to the NFC Championship game. Please note that the bet is not that he wins the NFC Championship game, but that he takes the team there.

The prize is 1000 dollars.

Edit: I should also note that this bet goes on for as long as Tony Romo is a Cowboy.

What if we play the dvisional round, we lead the game at halftime but Romo gets hurt right at the start of the 2nd half. Weeden comes in and we win the game ?

I would argue if Tony plays at all in the playoffs that he "led" us there.

Apologies everyone I misremembered the parameters of the bet.

The odds are 2:1

I lose I owe 500, I win I get 1000

He must start the majority of games that regular season

The day hes off the cowboys/or retires, the bets done.

Another bet I have going with him is if Darren McFadden gets a thousand yards rushing I get 99 dollars, if he does not I owe him 33.50.

It sounds like your 'friend' is an off shore gambling enterprise

No we bet a lot through out the course of the year. On who is right about a movie, what movies or tv shows or actors will win awards, which teams will have better records or which players will play better or what will happen in a tv show. It's like fantasy football, it just makes it more interesting.

I'm on the fence for this one. Every year I take McFadden in fantasy thinking this will be his year, and he really hasn't lived up to what I consider his full potential.

If he can stay healthy and play a full season, I think you have a chance. Unless Peterson comes here.

Well I figured if McFadden starts and stays healthy, 1000 is pretty easy and it is basically 3:1 odds. If for some reason we trade for Adrian Peterson, I lose 33.50, but I also gain 1000 dollars for the Cowboys going to the NFC champsionship game.

Ironically I also have a bet going with him that Adrian Peterson will be traded to another team. AP is traded before week 1 and I get 75 dollars, if he stays with the Vikings I lose 25 dollars.
