When Kellen got injured? It didn't impact my thoughts at all.
When Romo got injured? The length of time he was going to miss was pretty up in the air, so it was difficult to say exactly. I expected the team to start off very well in the first 4 games because of the easy schedule, but that it would get tougher when we got to Cincy and GB. I thought those two teams were going to be MUCH better teams than they have turned out to be. I didn't really know what to expect from Dak. I knew he'd offer some athleticism, and couldn't imagine he would be any worse than what we threw out there last year. I did expect Romo to be back starting by now, and for the team to still be in first place (or very nearly if Cincy/GB/Pitt had been as good as I expected).

I wasn't too worried about the Lawrence and Gregory 4 games suspensions, again because of the easy schedule to start off the season. The additional 10 for Gregory was frustrating, and our pass rush is still suffering and I'm still worried about it down the stretch.

I think for the most part we are where I expected we would be, but a little better because what I thought would be the toughest teams on our schedule did not turn out to be the teams I thought they would.

True but then who thought the East would be as tough as it is this season? Giants in any other NFC division would be leading at 8-4

True.. I had the Commanders as a 5 win team and I had the Eagles around the same.

Both are better than I thought.

We just have Washingtons number and I gave us 2 wins right there and I split with Eagles and Giants.

I knew we would go into the Bengals game no worse than 3-1.

My expectations went down when Romo got hurt, but by then we were already seeing that Dak was much better than most expected.

But even with a slightly better defense, with the moster Zeke in the fold and an unstoppable oline, I still did not at all expect anything close to this success with Dak at the helm.
Thought it would be better than 2015 (would have though that with this team even if weeden starting ) but they have gone WAY beyond where i thought they'd be.

I was expected anywhere between 10-6 and 12-4 with a fully healthy Tony Romo.

I was expecting 8-8 without Tony Romo ... and would have been really, REALLY happy.

When...

Romo went down.
K. Moore went down.
Rookie Dak thrown in the fire.
D. Law/R. Gregory suspension

I honestly expected a repeat of last year, but now it's just surreal. BUT A lot of football ahead of us...

I expected a Super Bowl throughout the off season. I felt like something special was going on, and we would right the ship after 2014. When Tony went down, my hopes were dashed for a split second, but I strangely trusted Dak after seeing the first two preseason games. By the time Dak came in a completed the pass after Tony went down, and went on to have a good game alongside Zeke in Seattle, I believed we were truly going to succeed.

Never predicted 11-1, though.

Even with Romo, I thought we were an 8-8 or 9-7 team. Recent history has jaded me.
I had questions about Romo, questions about defense, and questions about Dez.

My expectations for this year have already progressed far beyond my original expectations. Everything else beyond what we've already done will be delicious gravy. Sure, a win or two in the playoffs would be nice but otherwise, what we've done already should rightfully be enough on its own.

After Romo went down and Dak took over and continued his unbelievable preseason play, I commented then that I thought the playoffs were a possibility if he could continue to play that well during the regular season. I thought he would play well but not to the level or consistency he has. Didn't really have a win total in my head at the start of the season but thought a good season was a possibility if Dak's great play carried over to the regular season. I would have taken 9 wins at the start of the season based on having a rookie QB.

I knew Zeke would be great, made my opinion loud and clear on that in the many debates I had about him. Our poor 2015 season was due to our QB play and not having a dominant running game so it figured if that improved we could have a good 2016 season. The real concern heading into the season besides having a rookie QB was the defense and our lack of a pass rush which has been an issue but we've been able to overcome it so far with a high scoring offense and ball control.

Before Romo went down, after that draft I expected this team to at least match it's 12-4 record from 2014.

After Romo went down, I changed my assessment to another 4-12.

For Zeke to have a big impact and everything else to stink, really. I had virtually no expectations once Romo went down.

What's strange, it's that exactly how I felt before the 2014 season. I remember thinking we had the worst defense we ever had
Yup. me too. we just got rid of Ware and Hatcher.

Until Romo got hurt I had them at 11-13 wins. But I didn't think we'd do better than 8-10 wins with Dak at the best. I was prepared for worst.

Based on the schedule and before Romo's injury I predicted: "nothing less than 11 wins and deep playoff run."

Once Romo went down I expected somewhat of a repeat of last season, but was excited to see Prescott grow. I never expected he would have played as well as he did. Just a very fun season to watch unfold.

Romo had won 16 out his last 20 games.. About the only thing to question about him was his health.
